To delete or not delete

So my 07 is going to get some goodies , a Velocity tune and either 200 cell cats or cat deletes .
Does anyone have any onput about which would be better based on sounds levels .
I am looking for more sound but I dont want to rattle the neighbours windows .
Any input anyone ? Sound clips with without appreciated.
Car is 100% stock right now other than fuse 22

Personally I think cat deletes are depressing. You release double the amount of nitrogen oxides which are vastly worse for the world than co2. Just get the 200 cell cats. An x-pipe and super sport exhaust from Velocity will get you a much better sound.

I had the VAP decats on my V8V and it wasn't too loud at all (stock exhaust). The remote valve control is a must and your best money spent on an Aston.

The improved throttle response is nice!

I was in the same dilemma last fall when faced with this question. Even with fuse 22 pulled, the stock exhaust is rather tame. So you're thinking, less cost, get the deletes, how much louder can it be......well I ended up going with the Velocity 200 cell cats and I'm happy I did. I was very surprised at the increased volume out of the cats to where I've thought about plugging in fuse 22. Will I plug in fuse 22.....No, but I thought about it for a minute. Be ready to smile and giggle every time you do a cold start-up, direct quote from my neighbor "when you start that car it's like saying FU world!". In addition to the 200 cell cats, I'm also running Redpants air box deletes and a Velocity tune that does wonders for the throttle response.

@brightoncorgi Were you running the deletes on a pre '09 model on the primaries? I get the remote valve would be a help, but from what I've read, most of the exhaust noise suppression comes from the cats.

I'm sure this is not going to be a popular opinion, but I've recently begun to get annoyed by the prevalence of cars that have "emphasized" their noise levels. It seems - where I live - to be mostly late-model Mustangs. I might be walking downtown or at a shopping center when the ambiance is shattered by a crackling, popping, booming V-8 pulling away from a stop sign.
Yes, I have Fuse 22 on a remote bypass on my DB9, and yes, I secretly get an adolescent kick when someone recognizes the car and asks me to blip the throttle so they can hear its glory. But to me an Aston Martin is like James Bond in a tuxedo: all the "stuff" is there, but it's not strutting about like a noisy peacock on constant display.
By all means let's revel in the sounds our cars make, and even emphasize them at key moments. But in my opinion - and I recognize that I may be in the minority - the magic is in the control aspect.

200 cell cats with stock exhaust are pretty loud when you want it to be and pretty quiet when you don't

no resonance or as bad a smell either like you might get with decat pipes

would definitely reccomend the airbox deletes and tune as well

I had an '11 model. Without the valve control it's either the way it is (opening after 4K) or open all the time. Open all the time is aggressive when you want to just drive on the highway and the valve can freeze stuck. Dealer also says they see error codes when the fuse is out. Remote valve control for $70 is the best of everything.

Im still debating, would it be louder than my buddies 2003 Gallardo with stock exhaust .Thats loud but not obnoxiously.
I know noise levels are a subjective thing but I feel the standard exhaust even with valves open is muted in comparison to the image of the car .

Between the sound and the throttle response I think you should be happy with the decats. I did not want to change the type sound with a different exhaust or x-pipe; just make more of it.

Thats what Im trying to do just turn up the volume a couple of notches . Im not trying to make it sound like a thumpy US V8 Mustang Camaro etc or a high pitched screaming Ferrari in my opinion that wouldnt suit the refinement of an Aston .
And more throttle response is exactly what I want from the tune .

I went with a balance and got 100 cell VAP cats on V8VS. Still catching some pollutants and sounding sexy as hell.

In this case, sound is worth more than a thousand words or a picture. Redpants airbox delete with high flow filters, Velocity AP 200 cell cats, Velocity performance tune. Cold start...then skip to around the 2:30 mark for a couple bumps of the throttle. Only pushed it up to around 4 thousand RPM's Yes, I am embarrassed with how dirty she is, got caught in some light mist the other day, and the weather has sucked since.

I dont see 100 cell cats on VAP site , maybe the dropped making them ?
guess Im guilty as charged of “rolling coal” as neither of my Healeys have any kind of emission control on them but they sound wonderful .
