TPMS FAULT issue after dead battery

Been struggling to figure this one out:
My 2012 AM Vantage battery died ( it was parked for 4-5 months at my mom's place while I was moving). I replaced the battery, and since then It gives me "TPMS FAULT" warning all the time. I assume all sensors are working fine, since it is showing me correct tire pressure. As tires warm up, TPS numbers change, so I feel that all sensors are working fine. I cant get rid off the warning message, and low tire pressure light.
Any thoughts??
Please, LOL

You need new sensors, those batteries last about 8 years. They still read but they are low voltage causing the warning light.

Thanx very much. That makes sense. I'll look into getting new sensors installed.
Cheers

The sensors are self learning to vehicle and an aftermarket set (4) can be had for less than $200. A reputable tire shop can source and fit them. Or get them yourself and have them fitted. I've had good service from TPMS()com as they are local place for sensors.

If you’re in Canada and interested I have a set of 4 I can sell you. I ordered a set for my 2012 V8VS and it was lost in shipping so I ordered a another set and then the lost ones showed up 3 months later. I think I paid $300 for them (I’d need to check the receipt) but happy to accept best reasonable offer.

Or you could bypass the antiquated system with a simple harness from Redpants.

Thanx so much for that. I'll order them immediately. Not expensive at all. Now just need to find a decent local shop that knows what they doing. LOL. Going to the dealer is above my pay grade!

Hi all,

If this can help, I installed these ones on my Rapide. Ok, they come from Germany (433 mHz) and should not be the right ones for you guys in the US but at least I can confirm that
  • they work very fine
  • installation is really plug'n play: I made them installed and all was working immediately. No IT system to plug or else to set them up
That solved the problem that Gambit described in his post. The only issue has appeared once: a Ferrari parked closed to me and the whole system failed. I just re-started the car and everything was back to normal. Coincidence or actual link, I do not know

These Italians always mess things up!! LMFAO. thanx for the info. I got some aftermarket TPS seniors, and will get them installed in couple weeks, fingers crossed, the problem will go away. Cheers!

best mod i've made on my vantage was to disable TPMS. on early models you can just unplug them. i've read it's not so simple on older models.

OP, Keep us posted and let us know if the new sensors fixed the issue. I have the same problem on my 2011. I'm hoping that the issue is a low battery on one of the sensors, rather than something with the system as a whole.

thanks
