Help needed - cost effective solution for Waze and google maps (with iphone)

Sooo... my understanding is that there are at least a couple of different options.
1. The fancy fully integrated Carplay
2. The "screen mirroring"
3. The windscreen support and audio streaming via bovee - My current set up

I am trying to understand the price of the HW required for option 1 and 2 and the installation complexity.
I do not have any further requirement than:
- Display waze/google maps on the AM navi (garmin) system - I am ok with setting up destination etc on the phone itself before starting
- Listen to spotify/tunein - no need to skip tracks etc
- Listen to the radar alerts -only audio- on another app (Biltzer)

Priorities for the solution would be:
1. Easy DIY installation
2. Low price

Any help/suggestion more than welcome.
PS if it helps I am in EU, and shipping+VAT+duties from US are often crazy

Aston installations located in England is your best bet. They do this all the time and there should be a way for them to ship you a kit with instructions. They are active on the pistonheads Aston Martin list.

Yes Aston installation would be option 1 (anyhow they are out of EU now so the tax and duties option is knocking at the door anyhow )

Thanks. The aston installation option is clear to me.
I was wondering if, give my limited requirements, there was a cheaper/less intrusive option.

Has anyone done the Aston Installations retrofit themselves? Does anyone have a DIY guide?

I have yet to understand the desire to use the poorly placed OEM screen... especially because it is so far out of reach to add touch screens...

Get a video rear view mirror. It's closer to your eye, easy to install and able to take multiple video sources... mine is set up with front and rear cameras but your can set up other sources as well.

That’s interesting.
I think I have some kind of sensor in the rear view mirror (need to double check). Could you retain that?
i can you mirror in the mirror the iPhone screen? Don’t you need anyhow an interface?

See attached write up

FYI There are two old OEM Aston Mirrors on ebay right now for under $100. All you need is the mount

I am currently working on a project that has a few mix and match pieces. Not sure how it will end up but if it comes out as I am imagining it I think I will install it. I have a portable 7” CarPlay screen with capacitive touch that works really well. I currently have it on the waterfall with the suction bracket and love the location and how unobtrusive it really is, but hate how it looks with the suction bracket. Cost $200. I have procured a lightly scratched piano black waterfall to test on for $100. I found a couple of dash kits that I want to modify and see if I can fit the screen. $35. The biggest job will be the fiberglass to integrate it all but I have a friend that can do it for me for about $4-500. The end result as I imagine it, is a screen that will not retract and live on the waterfall with a nice surround integrated to it. Sort of like Mazdas or Audis. If it all works and comes out clean and looking good then I will go ahead and install it all. If not, I can use the screen for other cars and for trips and toss the rest in the trash.

Thanks a lot. I was thinking that I am not sure if I want to lose the homelink and the auto dimming function.
I will anyhow google the mirror options on the market.
