V8V -- Three Beeps?

Hey guys -- weird issue popped up on my recently purchased 2008 V8V.

When I start the car and for the first few minutes driving I'm randomly getting a series of three quick beeps from my dash. They're not at regular intervals... sometimes it'll happen right after I turn on the car and then not happen again, sometimes I'll get them randomly after I've started driving for a few minutes. Usually they go away after ten minutes or so of steady driving. But regardless it's annoying.

The car starts up fine, drives great, no lights on the dash or any other warnings. Has a brand new alternator, done a few months ago (before I purchased the car, I have the receipt). I was told from the previous owner it may need a new battery, but I've driven the car for 2,000 miles now and it's been pretty much flawless up until this issue popped up just a few days ago.

Any thoughts? Maybe it's the battery after all? But if there was a voltage issue wouldn't it trigger a dash light?

Hidden radar detector? Basically these are simple cars without crazy warning systems any flashing lights on the average. Just guessing something has been added.

Funny, but that was actually my first thought also.

The beeps are the same tone as the initial beeps when you turn the key and the 'beauty power soul' shows up on the display, so I'm pretty much positive they're all originating from the same place. I did dig around a little looking for any evidence of a radar unit though and no dice.

I'll just be driving along and get beep-beep-beep randomly. Sometimes it'll happen a few times in a row, sometimes it'll happen a few minutes apart, sometimes it'll happen once or twice and then not again for the duration of the drive. It's weird though because it just started a day or two ago and seems to be getting progressively more frequent.

I know these are pretty simple cars overall (part of the reason I bought one), that's why this is a little puzzling to me.

If battery replacement is questionable definitely have it tested or replaced. Have it scanned for codes before battery replacement to see if anything could be related to the beeping.

Maybe it's the PDC... I had a sensor on my mercedes that would go off randomly and it was replaced... no more problem...

With these simpler cars the only indicator is my PDC little LED on the switch lights up

Park aid turns off over 10mph. And you need reverse selected to initiate.

Welp I feel like an idiot... solved the problem though.

Turns out I was getting the service interval message when I first turn the key, but didn't realize it because I don't pay that close attention to the dash while I'm getting in the car and getting situated with my seatbelt, phone, etc.

Still, it is extremely strange that it would just decide to randomly beep at me as I drive without any other dash light or message, and without any real pattern to when or why it would decide to beep. Only indication was the message upon turning the key. No yellow triangle on the dash, no notification on the screen. Just beep-beep-beep at random.

Anyway, thankfully I connected all the dots and did the service reset procedure and have been enjoying beep-free driving all day.
