2007 Vantage with navigation. Thinking of installing wireless Car Play. The video interface that I am thinking of using says that I will need an auxiliary audio input. This seems to refer to the Dension Gateway. (they just said that some has had success with this. They did not recommend any specific audio input). However, without an audio input CarPlay would not have any sound.
I have attempted to read the archives, but I see nothing specifically on the NAVIKS video comptroller and a Dension Gateway.
Has anyone done this install? Hate to be going in on this completely dark if I don't have to.

One of the issues you will quickly run into is the low resolution of the factory nav screen. Aston Installs offers a higher resolution screen option to help resolve this, and you can buy their entire kit on the Redpants site.
Does anyone have/can anyone post the installation guide for the Aston Installations kit? I would like to know how complex the install is/what I'm getting into before diving in and making a purchase.
Lots of different solutions...I find the original screen location, view angle and resolution very poor. Even if you get a higher resolution screen, you are still faced with a non touch screen alternative...a little control gizmo really reduces the overall affect of using carplay or Android auto.
Also consider if you want to add cameras to your car and display...
After looking at a bunch of options, I decided the android auto was not worth all the compromises. I instead wanted front and rear cameras and use a video rear view mirror, voice control and a bovee. So have my phone visible on a mount. It's extremely handy.
@PaperBoy "I have one of those sitting in my garage.... was meaning to install it forever-ago, but started doing other "stuff" as usual"
Yeah, I usually fall into the same trap, which is why I've put off ordering it!
Based on some of the other comments, it sounds like the existing display resolution remains disappointing, so the more expensive options are probably the best way to go.
absolutely, I ended up upgrading the screen and going with a unit that has a control **** like the one "Aston Installation" sells....ive ran this for a year or so now. time for something new
Theres a post here about this one that looks like it uses OEM stereo controls...says back-ordered, but looks like its going to be a great product....HOWEVER,It will still require a new screen https://unique-ad.co.uk/product/wire...ide-2012-2015/
It may be worth the wait if it isnt vapor-ware
