Sub threads for AM forum

Would it be possible or advisable to have sub forums like they do in the Porsche forum? We now have two very different modern platforms where the cars are completely different animals. I think we should separate the AM built engine eras from the AMG era. There are almost zero similarities between the two platforms and looking for threads that are meaningful to your model can sometimes be tiring.

The model-specific, ie AMG, sub-forum may be of help, but what of general info regarding business developments at Aston, F1, future models, special editions, dealerships and all else not delineated by drive train? Just something to chew on.

I think it is fine the way it is.
The volume is more than manageable...and not all AM are Mercedes engines.
Thanks,
JH

I too, think volume is key. I participate in a dozen car forums, some busy some not so much. This forum is one that is not so much. There are times when there is no more than a single post a day. If you split that in half, then I suspect one of the sides will grind to a hault, enough where membership wanes.

By contrast, On a couple of sites in which I participate there might be 50 to 100 replies and new posts every daytime hour. That does make a significant difference in searching and finding info. When those sites split off into different model (types, or platforms), it really does help. My opinion, here, it will not help so much.

For reference on this site:
Tuesday 7-18 = 3 posts
7-17 = 3 posts
7-16 = 3 posts
7-15 = 2 posts
7-14 = 1 post
7-12 = 1 post
7-10 = 1 post

I know Facebook has eaten away at 6speed, but I have been a member for a very long time and still prefer it over FB. I like the forum format. But I dislike having to go through messages where it isn't clear if they pertain to my car or not. I don't come here every day so the posts do pile up. I assume many are in the same boat. I simply want the forum to be as helpful as possible.
