Unhappy Houston We Have a Problem - ECM could be dead

Gentlemen,

This is my first post here so let me first say hello

Onto my situation; I bought a lightly (aesthetically only) crashed 2006 manual V8 Vantage this past year. Even with its bumps and bruises I love the car!! It was running and driving up until from what I can tell was a power surge to my garage. The surge killed 5 battery maintainers, 2 outlets, and one of my garage door openers. I hadn't checked the Aston until recently (this happened a few weeks ago) and when I went to move, it had a dead battery.

After checking under the hood where I had my maintainer (literally blew apart) I THOUGHT that it was a draw that killed the battery. After replacing the battery I had power to some of the car but not all. It almost seemed like there was an issue with the alarm as lights were flashing as if the alarm was activated but my Fob didn't lock or unlock. I then saw there was no lights on the dash or gauges as I turned the key on but I did have functioning head and taillights (seats too thankfully.) Also the car would crank but wouldn't start. I assumed the crank no start was a security related issue. The windows also began creeping down intermittently until I rest their min and max positions.

Currently the car will not crank anymore. I checked all 3 fuse boxes and nothing is blown. The only code I'm getting from a reader is for the fuel pump module (which in researching can be an issue in general; is that true?) Trying to be positive and think that the fuel pump module is the key to all my problems, but I'm pretty sure thats not the case.

Anyone who wants to throw their constructive 2 cents in would be much appreciated

And full disclosure I'm not a trained mechanic but I do work with cars and on them regularly for work.

Thank you in advance

James

When my 2012 V12 Vantage wouldn’t start after the battery died and I tried to jump start it I eventually had it flatbedded to the dealer. When they tried the same things without success they hooked up the AM computer and found that the throttle bodies had been disabled. No one seemed to know how that could have happened but using the AM computer they reenabled them and everything was fine.
