I called Autel support a minute ago and am having a hard time believing what was told.

I purchased a TS501 and MX1 sensors. Registered tool.
On the Settings/About icon
System software v2.85
Hardware version V1.00
Manufacturer date 9/25/2023

I downloaded the Maxi PC Suite V1.33.zip
Plugged cable to pc and clicked Update on ts501
Opened the Maxi PC Suite icon on desktop
V1.40 opens and connects
Entered ID and Password and got Update window. Completed an update.
If I click on Installed and scroll to Aston I have V6.05 update 20230906

Here’s the problem
On the TS501 I click on TPMS

I only have one option to create which is AutoCreate 1/16 sensor. The manual create option is not available. Tech Support at Autel says that the manual create option was removed by design. I find this impossible to believe.

 

That doesn't make sense. How are you supposed to clone a sensor that's truly dead?

 

I called back and spoke to another tech at their NY center. Was told another company bought/has the rights and they eliminated it. Then I read that there was a lawsuit settled last year.

Those who have a previous system and are using these sensors, don’t update your system. If you have this manual create option it will still be there but might get dropped if you update.

I am simply going to bypass it altogether.

 

I have a TS401 (v.5.61) and had to purchase a TS508WF (v.6.51) earlier this week because the current TS401 software build does not have a configuration for the 2023 DBX. Both have the current software versions.
I just checked, and both units have a manual create option for Smartire.
