...the harder it is to remove and mount the wheels.
Ever since I got my Vanquish I've gotten more concerned about dinging the ceramic discs, brake calipers, and wheel barrels while removing and reinstalling the wheels. That, and the fact that it just gets harder when you get older.
So I've come up with a solution that works extremely well for me. It's made up from a motorcycle lift on casters (to provide lift and mobility) and 10-inch conveyor belt rollers (to allow the wheel to rotate). I made a "saddle" out of scrap plywood to mount the rollers, which then sits on top of the motorcycle lift.
After lifting the car on my QuickJack I can position my contraption under the wheel, raise it to support the tire, remove the nuts, and slide the wheel and tire away from the hub without dinging anything. And when it comes time to remount the wheel, the rollers let me line up the holes with the bolts and slide the wheel into place.
All in it was about $200, and my aging back thinks it's well worth the price. I thought this might help some of my contemporaries
This also works well for cleaning and polishing the wheels since you can raise it to a good working height and rotate the wheel.
I've thought of buying one of these.
Saw one being used for rotating tires on a F250 diesel with big tires, so probably 100# plus and it looked easy.
I looked at those first, but I needed something that would be high enough to work with my QuickJack and could also work in the tight space of my garage. The weirdly named "Jack and Jill of All Tires" looked like it might work but I couldn't confirm the max height.
yvr...
Something i cooked up since i just spent over $350 on new black lug nuts.
A holder to use while dis-mounting and mounting the wheels. 3/8" dowels and 18" long

Very nice, ! like it!
I just ordered a set of stainless steel nuts from AMS Edition to replace my stock ones -- some of them have swollen and it's a PIA to have to switch sockets or struggle to get the nut out of the socket. That looks like a nice way to keep them from knocking around together and spoiling the finish.
lol for me it was the quickjack itself that hurt my back. i lowered the car so i could no longer park over top of the quickjacks anymore so i wall mounted. lifting from the floor to upright position was no issue, i was smart about that. the plate carry style lift to pick up and mount the quickjack on it's hook was my undoing.
