Need a tune for stock K03s with some exhaust work. Eventually going to do a standard k04 kit, so I would like a bulletproof tuner that will give me some credit toward the upgrade when I do it (which means they have to have both a k03 and k04 tune). New to the audi world and I dont know where to start. Thanks.

VW and Audi tuners are very similar. You should look at APR and unitronic. I have APR on my GTI, and it's been great

Globs of info available on Audiworld and Audizine. Everyone will have their preferences but their are extensive "FAQ" stickies available.

So many good tuners for the K03's with upgrades to K04 software. Some off the top of my head would be...

KMD/ Dahlback Tuning
EPL
APR
Giac
Revo

Any off the shelf tune will work for you with K03's or K04's. And most of the above tuners will put out similar HP numbers.

GMG flashed my stage 2 GIAC s4 over 40k miles ago; love it, although I'm still on the stock ko3's.

AWE tuned my GTI VR6 back in the day, very knowledgeable people.

I'd say go to someone that can provide local assistance/service as the car grows. APR and AWE have tested stage 3 kits that are reliable. But if you are going to go a custom route and not buy an off the shelf kit, I'd try EPL or Vast. As PMoth mentioned, there's plenty of detailed info on Audizine about it.

I love my car, I could only imagine if she were stage 3...

In addition to Audizine and AudiWorld, there is also QuattroWorld.
