991.1 2014 - thoughts on price?
Hi guys,
I have been researching for awhile and I found the following car but 28k miles seems on the higher end.
I'd like a convertible, preferably with red interior, or if not red interior then a unique PTS color - burmester is a must.
I don't know if 28k miles is too many for this particular car. Most 991.1 Turbo S have about 10k or so miles.
If I drive it 12k / year, by next year this particular car would have 40k miles already. I feel it would absolutely crush resale as by the time I'm ready to sell in 5 years it will have 100k miles and be worth $50k.
I know you don't buy depreciating cars for resale, or not drive it to save for someone else... I just want to make the best decision.

What do you think this car is really worth? They're asking $126.5k. Similar cars are about the same price but 10k less miles.
This PTS Turbo S is in gulf blue is unique! But its not a cab:

Or perhaps spending a bit more and getting a 991.2 - 2017, but its white / black and not as unique...

My budget is 150k max, and I'd like to be closer to 130k. I don't know what to do

It is!
I love this lava orange, but the orange center dash area is terrible in orange.

I wonder if they make the surround around the screen in regular black or carbon too? I found the trim around the shifter area in carbon already...
I think I've decided on the white on red cab for $126.5k what would be a fair price, considering its certified as well?

By the way, it looks like prices held up great, who would believe a 28K miles "boring" 5 years old turbo S would almost match the price of a 7K miles, 2 years newer GT3RS. There is no a single Porsche which is not depreciating, even the GT2RS is closing in on it's original retail so don't worry about it, and i dont think it's will be as low as 50K in 5 yearsץ
Now to your cars options- the 28K mile is too high to my opnion. I am not a fan of light blue, even if it's PTS. If you can, 991.2 would be preferable.
You want a unique car? I can assure you its so unlikly you'll see another one like this, you probably never see, and great great color, price and miles are good and it's 991.2-

No BM audio though..

28,000 is very high, i think this car should be sold lower then other cars, you should use your car but it doesn't mean it shouldn't have consequences.

objectively it's not "too many" because those cars are built for 100th of thousands of miles, but it is too many compared to other cars. I don't want to mess anyone's selling/business, just my opinion, i would say 10% less at least. With that said, it all come down to condition.. can be 28K miles in better condition than 10K, how was the car treated? was it treated with respect as some's pride and joy or was it passed hand to hand as a temporary toy? (a critical factor in my market is how many owners the car had, it is even inherent in the ministry of transportation records and the car title and can't be changed, like the odometer). Back to that midnight blue with wood interior, this car is for sure some's pride and joy as it was speced by the buyer who special ordered it and paid big money for it (no Porsche dealership would spec that to it's inventory).
I have a 2014 Porsche 991 Turbo I purchased new. Live in Las Vegas and the weather is very hot. I have 72k in the car and it is bullet proof. I understand that with all these miles the car has really depreciated. However I am 74 and purchased the car to drive and enjoy. I am not concerned with keeping low mile and saving the car for the next owner. My old 2001 Turbo only and 47K in 13 year. Conclusion these cars are bullet proof. If you are looking to save money and get a 991 Turbo. Select a high milage car that has been well maintained. You will save along of money on the price of the car but you will have a very reliable high performance Turbo. A high milage care like mine will sell at a low price but provide the buyer a great high performance car at a great price. Do not let the milage scare you. You can save big bucks on a high milage car and get all the enjoyment of driving a low milage car. Hope this helps. I plan on keeping my car until it get to at least 100K. I am 74 I told the dealer if I am alive at 80 I will buy another new car.
