Chad, I will share some more info even tho you most likely will not understand what I will be talking about. Why I know so much about back psi? Some people maybe following my build, I am using a MoTec M880 ecu, I am tuning in 4D. one thing that really puts it all together is EMAP or Exhaust Manifold Absolute Pressure. I know how much psi is in my intake manifold vs my exhaust manifold, helpful to see your VE. The guys doing the syvec's and proefi's know what I am talking about. I run less Emap psi then Map psi @ 31psi, that means my Straight pipes have no back psi to be measured. Rule of thumb is 1 psi of back psi post turbo is about 3 psi pre turbo. I have gone in to what that means in other threads so I will not repeat myself. Enjoy your the rest of your day.

your setup is far beyond what others have. You don't even have a straight pipe - it is just a very short bent piece of pipe

Regarding your Emap: another explanation for your Emap being lower than your Map psi is that your turbos have quite a lot blow-by.

I don't see a reason in running lower psi in front of the turbo wheel than what I have in my manifold and I would call that quite unusual. This pressure drives the wheel and the low backpressure on the exhaust is what put's it all into perspective regarding efficiency of the turbo.

The emap vs map at that boost level shows my Ve. from 21 psi to 31psi I make 28 rwhp per psi of boost! As I turn the boost up the Emap will cross the map, at what point I don't but will report. I am adding 6 more injectors to fix my lack of fuel so I can turn the boost up more. I was using pte 6262 with a .63 A/R and now use garrett gt35r's modded by Force performance with .82 A/R .

The MoTec engineer I consult states my emap vs map is platinum 1-1 and under. golden is 2-1 emap vs map. Also it is worth noting that the lack of back psi lets the combustion chamber (heads and pistons) and entire engine absorb less heat.

I was told its thermal energy of the exhaust that spools a turbo (Why they heat wrap the header/turbine housing) and not the psi of the exhaust. My case proves that, no matter how hard it is for me to understand. I feel in order to move air/ gasses you need to have a difference in psi.
