Aston vs. Bentley
Yep, the cars lowers at 80mph everytime. It shows on the dash display. After 100mph, I just pay attention to the road. I gotta slow down on these midnight runs, too dark. Kinda scary. At 150mph, she was really smooth. Even on 22s on Sport suspension mode. Even if you are "ridin dirty", it's still reckless endangerment and straight to jail you go.
Wow lots of great acivity on this thread over the weekend! Awesome
!
Just some thoughts...
1) phone numbers... the only one of my cars to get a phone number left on it was my BMW M3 CSL, this said I've found more women appreciating the Mercedes, it seems to show stable, but not flashy...I think they like that. The Aston attracts women by the drove, but the association is with Bond so maybe that's part of a fantasy thing, regardless AML seems to draw eyes with their designs which are widely agreed upon in the automotive press as the most beautiful in recent times. I think if I parked it outside more, the DB9 would pull numbers lol....and the Porsche GT2, that just scares poeple!!! now imagine what it would do at 30 pounds of boost and 1200 rwhp... haha
2) Races and rides... I agree with Wedgeduck, many folks here are probably of various ethnic descent and race...what I love about the auto enthusiast world is the amazing friends I've met, the opennes, the love of cars and culture, the like mindedness, and the great camaraderie, and just some of the nicest people...irrespective of age, gender, race, color, or creed. I'm Indian American and my parents were 1st generation immigrants we didn't have a pot to **** in when first coming to this country, starting off in NYC, then PG Co near one of DC's worst areas, I would get into fights almost everyday at school as a kid, my older brother and I shared one bed and slept head to feet, parents rented a 2 bedroom apt when we were growing up, even thru HS we lived in modest townhome, my first car in HS was a Chrystler reliant K car, it shook at 65 mph...but it had power windows, at the time that was the best option in the world for me...called her the "Silver bullet", she was anything but!
. We worked hard and kept pushing, even thru tough times. We are fortunate each of us in our lives to attain what we have, be it a little or a lot, there are always people in worse shape, a little bit of awareness even goes a long way.
3 - Vermont and pictures... take them, post them here if you'd like, no problem...I dd a stint at Dartmouth and I miss NH and New England area...in the fall it's amazing time of year.....if you were in VT, did you stop by Ben and Jerry's and have a Vermonster!!!??? - that's a ton of ice cream lol
4 Bentley - definately a nice high speed big heavy tourer, very comfortable and powerful highway brawlers and boulevard cruisers, feel free to post pics of your Bentleys on this thread too or any cars that you'd like to share, I'd (and others I'm sure) would love to see them...

. True daytime driving is so much better. Not to many highways are open to our speed. Always someone on the road. That's why we go to dessert. But yeah, it's kinda scary. My friend runs a Flir night vision camera and a navigator(riding shotgun) to help out.
will post pics today taken on my 3rd gen IPAD. Professional photog is not ready. Surf is nice so I gotta get back out there for a double session. Will get those pics up tonight. Plus my detailed is mad at me for running the car in the desert cause as of this minute, he is picking the bugs off my grill.

Note the view is 240 degrees yet the photo below only shows about 160 degrees or so. The round window 'teases' you about the other 80 degrees you miss from first photo

ADDED: Found two more photos you might like. One is the 'full' pano (entire pano is a HUGE file, cant upload here or anywhere else that i can find for free) so made it smaller and uploaded at http://i49.tinypic.com/33vg1h3.jpg.

Well we have been over the people groups that recognize and love the British super cars but have you noticed who NEVER even looks?
Yep the old geezer farmer pulling a cattle trailer. I watch people and these guys are the last to look. I don't think they value sports cars and therefore don't even register them in the brain.

My truck was sweet though! Cummins Diesel HD 2500 LB, sport silver, Linex, Tune + fuel stack, set up for DDP inj and HTIS Turbonetics turbo upgrade, AFE intake, MBRP turbo back full stainless exhaust, Ispro Gauges FP/boost/EGT/trans, Upgraded fuel pump - FASS high flow fuel deliver, Dunrite triple disc converter, modified valve body, T/C, Mag Hytec pans on both axles and trans, modified transfer case and gearing, synthetic fluids.
The truck was a beast! diesel smoke and torque....could pull a tree stump straight out of the ground
!!!
When I was towing my race car to some tracks out in the mid west or down south or just rural areas where farming and agriculture was prevelent....they gave me more compliments, thumbs up, and high fives on my truck then any toy I was hauling lol, be it my race car or whatever!

At this year's EuroTour DC we got to hang out with Valentino Balboni (who is a great guy, very down to earth, very mellow and humerous) and he told us that Ferrucio Lamborghini was happy being a farmer until he had to use his clutches in his Ferrari, so he went to modena to meet with Enzo Ferrari and was told ... hey you're just a stupid farmer, what do you know about these sports cars...disgusted and enraged, Ferrucio Lamborgini took a pull of his cigarette, and stomped it out in front of old man Ferrari and said something to the effect of ...I'll show you what kind of cars I can make with my tractor parts! ....the rest as they say is history...Balboni drove every single Lamborgini road car to be sold, he signed some cars for friends and then he got the keys to a Gallardo 570-4 spyder and joined us for the tour and BBQ!
Pic of me with the Legend himself! He told me if I buy a lambo to send him the paperwork or even a part of the car and he'd sign it and personalize it for me
! Super cool guy.
