Lots of admirers, but not to many takers. Bentley sold more vehicles to the US and China over the AM.

I live two blocks down from the beach in So. Cal. That AWD does help in the rain. Plus I got 4x4 and another AWD in case I want to hit the slopes.

What a small world! I can't believe you guys know a lot of the same places and are so deeply rooted to the DC and surrounding areas. Guys like you and Wedgeduck and my 6speed brothers always have a place to crash in MD/DC/VA...one of the best things about our enthusiast community is knowing and getting to be friends with like minded people all over the country and world for that matter.

... oh and we are waiting for the DBS pics in the Aston forum!...you know Racer_X and I have to rib ya a bit about leaving Lotus...now what about that avatar of yours haha lol!

Guys, we need to have a Tracks meets Aston meet some time. Sunir if you ever visited Socal, we need to all meet up for sure. Yes, I was premed at Hopkins...but good times in Baltimore and DC for sure.

Wedge, ever hit C&C? I'm probably going to go to Supercar Sunday tomorrow. Let me know the next run you go to. I was going to go to PV Concourse today, but can't make it.

This has been a funny thread so far and while I mostly lurk on this forum, I thought I would weigh in. Just to establish my cred: I own a Sapphire GTC (06). While I do admire the AM and I think it looks cooler than the B (as I call it), I was scared away by maintenance, harsh depreciation (even on used ones) and the fact that it wasn't quite as "passionate" as the Ferrari I own. The GTC is totally orthogonal to the AM however and it is unsurpassed all around: comfort, power, amenities, etc.

I am one of those "black guys" referred to earlier in the thread and even so I notice it is more recognized as a sign of success in the black community than outside. Yesterday, as I left work, in a business suit a guy came up to me and asked if I played for the San Francisco 49ers! (I am a banker). There is with one exception however: the female of the species. For some reason that I do not understand, the GTC draws them in (which has been alluded to earlier in the thread). I find numbers etc. under the windshield wipers every couple of weeks or so leaving me wondering what kind of woman does that? lol.

So I guess part of the answer depends on what other cars you drive and whether you'd rather impress women or men

Great post Ice9! Please post more often as these other OLD GUYS here can be so... you know (JUST JOKING GUYS!!!!)

It is amazing how the Ferrari and perhaps AM seem to draw in men, which is fine. Will have to say, via observation, the AM drawn in women more than a Ferrari. Of course other's experience/milage may vary, see stores for details, while supplies last, for a limited time. You are right ice9 and found the same thing that the Ferrari in particular is a young boy/man magnet. Umm, always great to make kids smile and all that, let them sit in the car, dream big, etc... but, er um, in no way my preference.

LOL, ahhh yes indeed. The B (what i call it too) has only had two of those notes. The Ferrari had zero. Winner = B

Ferrari had two 22-ish yr old gals 'flash me' while was driving down the beach. B has zero flashes. Winner = Ferrari

So maybe the old proverb is true, a phone number in the hand is worth more than two flashing at the beach. Winner = B

So I guess part of the answer depends on what other cars you drive and whether you'd rather impress women or men
^^B = #winning^^

I might show up to Supercar Sunday this morning. I took my Bentley for a midnight run and at 160mph she is smooth as silk. The car lowers itself at 80mph, the spoiler raises at 90mph, the hair on my arms all raised at 150mph! love those runs in the desert. Wanted to hit alot of meets, but have been so busy with family and projects. Loved DC and Baltimore scene. Love the bars and those delicious blue crabs. I believe the next meet for Supercar Sunday is the 30th.

My neighbor is African American and he is a banker at Chase. I don't think the racial undertones are meant to be racial. I am Asian American and we grew here in poverty. My family fought in two wars just to lose and became refugees. We educated ourselves, worked really hard and with a bit of luck, got where we are today. I just call it as I see it bro. The LBC is another Oakland. Drive your Bentley in the wrong area and you can guess the results. My car gets detailed in the same shop as another Bentley owned by an African American. His Bentley is really sweet. I dont believe lot of guys on this forum are that ignorant. They are well rounded, educated men with a sense of dark humor and some older cats that really like to go fast! and you are right. Women for some damm reason love that GTC.

Off or on topic... not sure. What was the topic again?

This weekend decided to grand tour to see the foliage change at the Green Mountains of VT. Great weather, amazing scenery and the turbos loved the cool dense air while the tires liked the sun-warmed tarmac. It was glorious twisting roadways darting through the valleys. Anywho, first time my girlfriend experienced the B's more, shall we say, athletic abilities. To quote her "A gorgeous day for a nice drive through Vt. OMG the foliage is already in full show here. So picturesque. (That is when I was brave enough to have my eyes opened...not so sure about 'sports mode'... scary)."

FYI: Peak in some places, about a week or so away in others in VT.

Well Ice9 good to have to you writing. I hope I never get a phone # on the windshield, cause it's going to cause to many questions with the wife.

It is interesting how some cars get to be symbols of success. I took a pretty little high school senior for a parade ride Friday and I asked her how she was aquatainted with the GTC and she replied the Kardashians. Amazing how music and TV shapes our views.

I love many cars but can not afford them all.

I am afraid that at 150mph some of my other body parts would have chimed in as well.

Depens man. Don't be caught "Ridin Dirty".

The car lowers on the stock setting but it is pretty high mph can't remember but thought it should do so a little earlier.
