Fabspeed Maxflo Muffler

My car is back in the shop to install the Maxflo Muffler tail pipe section. David has finally had to tell me that down tubes are not practically possible on my car. In lieu of that he sent instead the new, under development tail pipe section in hopes that I will like it.

The shop called earlier today and the salesman says it sounds awesome. Never completely trusting a salemans word I called the tech and spoke to him. He thinks I will really like it stating that is just the right amount and quality of sound for a Bentley. I will pick it up tomorrow and report back.

Like you all need another thread from me.

Why can't the down tubes work on your car? The reason I ask is that my downtubes are on a truck somewhere between PA and FL for my 05 GT.

hey Chris, you will be fine with your install! the down-pipes fit the 04-05 cars, the newer ones have the down-pipes attached to the cat which makes it impossible to remove without taking the engine out

here is your setup:

and the cars where the engine has to come out:

So basically you are sending the Doc a muffler bypass pipe? So no muffler, straight pipe then? Cool, the Doc will love to hear this sound off the canyon walls. Sounds mean!

Yehaw that's the pipe.

David i was referring to the car salesman where I bought my car and he is a good guy, therefore the wink sign.

I love it!!!!! The car finally sound like it should. 640hp should have some aural presence. The pipe has some sort of little fat spot in it with some waffle lining what is that called? David and please expound on the pipe and how it was designed.

Oh that picture is a horror story!

i know you werent talking about me, just messing with you

a quick explanation of the muffler bypass setup is straight pipes with resonators spliced in... the resonators get rid of or eliminate the potential resonance some straight pipes have... here is a picture of the inside of the resonator.. the resonator is basically a small, straight through muffler.

When on her first ride post pipe Brooke said," I can't wait to hear that off the rock walls".

My wife Sandy was not so pleased. When i started it in the garage with the door open and a cold start at that it roared up pretty good. She exclaimed, i don't like that. Oh well I told her I predicted that and i was not afraid of her disapproval.

She did get a bit tired of me talking about the car for the solid hour on the way to Knoxville.

I guess you might be in the doghouse for awhile Doc. Run that thing off the rock walls and have Brooke recorded on her phone and don't forget to post. When my car gets back I want to do some runs through a tunnel by the airport here just to record some sound bytes.

Actually my wife and I have some new understandings that we don't have to agree on many issues. Her Audi A7 has no sound but I don't fuss with her about the fact thai i find that some what of a fault. The GTC is mine and that's that.
