My first mod

Just installed the Grom bluetooth unit. Works really well. Took about 5 minutes. I'd appreciate any tips anyone might have about routing the mic wire to the overhead console.

Thanks!

Through the top of the glovebox up the side trim under the front of the headliner and leave the mic at the side of the overhead light box or if you want to be more creative the 2 black circles which look like small speakers, one is the original mic which you don't use and the other is a dummy, you could swap them over and use the dummy drill a same size hole as the new mic and pop the mic into it ...

Thanks...do you think I really need to cut a hole in the dummy? May test it without the hole to see if the mic is sensitive enough to avoid cutting.
That's the weekend project...along with a new headlight switch, and a clay bar and wax.

Sure test it first but I think you'll be to far away from it as the dummy is like a box, its an easy job to do take you no more than 5 min to remove it drill it pop the mic into it & pop it back on, oh they only fit in one way so find the 2 lugs first & push it back in ...

All done. I chickened out on drilling the hole, so the mic stands out from the driver’s side of the overhead. No problem concealing the wire all the way around and into the glove box. Very happy with the Grom. Thanks.

Just to show that its an easy task to counsel the after market microphone, swop over the dummy for the stock microphone which ever side your drivers seat is ...
