Continental GTC does not shut down after locking / AC keeps running

Hi all, strange problem here. After I close my 2007 GTC, the interior climate fan keeps running on and of. When I touch the door handle (without having the key around), the small interior light turns on and the fan turns of. 30 seconds later, fan turns on again. With my mechanic, we read all the fault codes. Beside fault code on the boot switch which is coming back, everything was ok. It seems that the car won't shut itself down properly and ventilation keeps running. Battery is dead in 5 or 6 hours so i take of the negative pole now to save the main battery from draining. It happened just over night so no idea what could have triggered it.

Car is in perfect condition, I hope I can solve this problem with idea's from you guys!

Regards, Julius

I believe the problem is being compounded by the (now weak) main battery. Check the voltage to eliminate this.

Thanks guys. @AJ1 I connected the main battery to a charger. After charging it says battery condition ok. Problem keeps existing also with full (main) battery. @John, not on a slope but I bought the car recently. It's probably not used a lot since I bought it. It is parked much more outside now that I am driving it regularly. Now that the problem is there, the car is parked multiple days in a warm and dry garage, so if it is damp, it should be dry again right? What do you think the connection between the KESSY box and the problem is?

What also was a problem that one of my keys is not recognized anymore. I did not pay much of attention to it, wanted to solve it later. Can that be part of the problem?

Keyless Entry Stop Start System if it’s damp + water not draining from the scuttle ( the part between the windscreen and engine ) then you can get all sorts of strange symptoms , inc your key fob recognition....but try a new battery in that first .KESSY box is under the passenger footwell.

Also the main fuse / relay box in the scuttle if that’s had water ingress ......various relays corroded and won’t shut down .
All this needs elimination by examining for damp / water .

Seems odd two things ,
The fan control modules can play up they are behind the fan motors , but should throw a code ?
Airco fans are controlled separately.again should throw a code ?

good luck with it .

Will start to check the KESSY module. Not sure if there is any damp in there but maybe. No fault codes in fan control modules. I don't know what the airco fans are. Also no fault code. Only 2 minor fault codes on 2 separte air ventilators in the back seat. I think faulty feedback because they work well. We don't see that as cause.

The inside ventilation in the whole starts running after you lock the car. It keeps on running, same level as you when you stop the car. Then when everything is closed and you touch the door handle to open the car (key is not around so it won't open) the ventilation stops and the soft interior light goes on, after a few moments, ventilation starts again.

Well, the problem is solved. It took the technicians 11,5 hours to investigate. The fault was in the interior ventilator control module (the blower control). It needed replacement and the problem disappeared. They checked also with Bentley and this problem was't known before. Hopefully I am able to help somebody by this post in the future!

Where was this module located? Ant rational reason for the failure? I am having a similar issue that you described. <40k miles '06 Flying Spur, very well maintained. Can the job be done at home, part availability?
Thanks in advance.
