Bentley Tire Pressue Monitoring
Bentley Tire Pressue Monitoring
Does anyone know how accurate the Tire Pressure Monitoring System is? It's a few pounds off from my manual tire gauge.
Also, the system is recommending pressures well below the pressures recommended on the driver's side label.
I've got 21 inch wheels with the usual Pirelli summer tires.

With one of the systems you can set the desired pressures. I know mine gives options for pressure and wheel size. No idea how accurate the sensors are compared to some baseline. Part of the question must be 'how accurate is your manual gauge?'

Thanks.
The pressures listed on the label seem quite high, 48 and 46 psi. If my manual gauge is accurate, why mess with the electronic sensor numbers?
I have 21` inch wheels, which were supplied when the car left the factory. It seems like most of the guidance is follow the car label for cold pressures.
Any thoughts?

For sure I'd stick with the numbers on the label but some people prefer something different (different ride, or track day...)
The recommended pressures on mine are a chunk higher than any other car I've owned, but it *is* a big, heavy car. I'd check the system set up and maybe get a good quality gauge.
I think the other system will be one that you inflate to your preferred pressure, then you go through a calibration process which sets your base pressure (with a temperature compensation) and then it works on acceptable pressure difference, temperature compensated (or at least that's what the Maseratis did)

Thanks, yeah I've got a good gauge, so I think I'll go with the 48 psi.
I've forgotten my college physics, but I assume the larger tire size has something to do with the higher pressure guidelines.

My Granturismo had 20" wheels (as did my Jag actually) and the pressures where nothing like these. But the cars were rather lighter. I think that's the kicker.
