Is there one in the trunk or more than one? And where are they located?
Key fob is intermittently not opening trunk. And yes, Dr. Ing. Dark Green, I've replaced the fob battery.

key fobs not opening boot...
I've tried several of my keys, with no success to open the boot.
The manual emblem button works fine, the cabin release switch works fine.
Since all the fobs have no batteries that suggest the proximity sensory is at fault in the boot.
Where is it?
Anyone?

Does other key functions work?
I just replaced my trunk module, which exhibited different symptoms; none of the methods opened the trunk. Just verifying all your other key functions work and the trunk button does not result in park lights "flash" and accompanying beep? Sorry, I do not recall seeing the sensor when I dismantled the trunk (2014 FS).
Thanks for the reply.
Three different keys with fresh batteries are not opening the trunk. All the other key functions work and no other lights go on.
Clearly the trunk motor is working as the Bentley emblem switch and trunk open control in the cabin work properly for open and close.
There's got to be some kind of sensor in the trunk to see the proximity of a key.

Problem solved
After going thru the "Convenience Menu" I changed some settings on the "alarm" sub menu. Essentially unchecking doors and trunk
solved the problem although I can't say why. The manual isn't really coherent on this at least to me.
When I tried one of my several keys with new batteries, I got a "car immobilized" and "key not recognized" which may have had
to do with pressing key buttons too many times, although again the manual doesn't really say much about this. I suspect
that the key became transiently unrecognized for some reason even though it locked/unlocked Ok.
A relatively new key with new batteries seems unlikely to have a bad "trunk unlock" button especially when the other two
buttons work.
I wonder if anyone can enlighten me on this.

Convenience Settings and fob trunk button
Can anyone explain the alarm setting options on the "convenience menu?" I don't really understand the manual.
I'm especially interested to know what the door and trunk alarm settings mean when checked or unchecked.

Anyone?
I'm gonna sell the car and would like to be able to explain the convenience/alarm settings.

Well, problem solved. One of my four keys works except for the trunk open button. The other 2 keys open the trunk fine. Valet key of course doesn't have the trunk button.
Clearly the open trunk button on the key that doesn't open the trunk has a contact problem in the key. Is there any obvious way to improve the physical contact of
the button on the inside of the case? I hate to open the case repeatedly as the rubber is soft and easily degrades. Or is there a defect in the circuitry beneath
the button's physical contact. How can you tell when the other two buttons work just fine?
