Drove 335 Sedan Today

I was very impressed with the overall package. Roomy interior. Good handling and power. Fun to drive. Seems like an excellent dd.

I drove one on Saturday. It is a nice car. Great engine. The only problem I had was that idrive really does suck. It just isn't intuitive. I hope that it gets easier as you use it.

The one I drove didn't have nav and therefore no idrive. I personally like the cleaner look of the dash without nav and would order one without. Seems like a good deal with lots of options for mods.

I love my 335..makes for a great DD. It only takes a few days to get used to the idrive, but once you get it, it's very easy to use. I like the look of the nav/idrive screen in the middle of the dash. The dash looks very empty without it there.

Besides obviously navigation, is there anything else you get with the nav/i-drive that you don't get otherwise. Lets say light settings or other audio programming/tuning options?

I'm thinking of getting a 335i but I kind of want to wait and see the 135i.

Lets see, you can auto adjust the climate control with the idrive. If you have bluetooth, you can scroll through your entire address book on the idrive screen to make and recieve phone calls. Also shows incoming call (caller ID) on the screen. Even shows phone signal strength on the screen.

If you have the IPOD option (Option code 6FL), you plug the ipod into the center console, close it and all your songs show up on the idrive screen. You scroll through playlists with the wheel and select any song you want ( I highly recommend this option along with the bluetooth).

Navi gives you real time traffic diversion routes with many points of interest. It's like having a yellow pages in your car. Pretty much anything else is also set on the idrive screen....lights, door locks, turn signal functions..too many to list.

I can't see spending the money on a BMW and not getting this option. It really brings everything together in one cohesive device.

Agreed! Idrive rocks. Beats the hell out of MB Command.

The I-Drive is tough at first, but it becomes intuitive pretty quick. I think it's a nice way of consolidating a lot of things into one control, but I'm not all that crazy about how it looks on the 3 series dash.

I'd like to second everyones comments about the iDrive. With a few hours of "practice"...you'll be a pro.

One day affair with iDrive is not a good evaluation period. Believe it or not, it does get intuitive pretty quick.

It came standard on my '06 M5 and I ordered it on my '06 330i.
Placed an order for 135i and ordered iDrive (Nav).
But now toying with the idea of a 335xi instead.
