i cant stand myself yes.. i agree with you. i've met alot of M3 guys in the 5yrs.. most of them are arrogant ******. i use to drive a mustang too and even in that crowd.. there were still alot of arrogant ******..

point is.. you'll find bad seeds in every car groups. im sure there are no ****** in the porsche crowds..

Exactly why I said "I see on the road driving them." Don't get me wrong. I looked at THREE M3's before I settled on getting my Shelby. I just wanted something a little rough. The BMW guys I know personally are great guys. The ones you see on the road who look at you smug are the ones who I can't stand.

Um...the Mustang crowd is FAR worse than any other car crowd in my opinion. TRUST me. Not even comparable.

I actually appreciate the looks of my E46 M3 even more, now that the E92 is out. Call me crazy, but I love CLEAN, custom-tailored older cars better than brand new ones.

Dated? Far from it,I think it has aged VERY well. I consider it be one of the Millennium cars (Classic car in making, just watch),don't forget the E46 M3 is 9 years old now. Its still one of the best handling cars, its not very powerful, but still one of the best engine's. Speaking of engines, the N54 I6 in the 335 is the pretty much the same engine as the M54 found in the E46 M3 but updated and Bi-Turbo. Anyways the E46 M3 is a classic.

Agreed, although the motor in M is S54 and it's not 9 years old, 7

I still LOVE THAT CAR!

This is happening more and more here in Vegas as the e46 becomes more affordable. Just watch, these kids will start modding the car like it was a Honda. Cheap body kits, CF in all the wrong places, and worst of all....CHROME WHEELS ( most likely 20s on stock suspension).

The same thing happens to all upscale cars that lose value with time. It happened to my beloved a4 For instance, I've seen: some kid put a carbon fiber hood on an otherwise completely stock car , it looked absolutely ridiculous. Kids are putting chrome 20s on the a4 all over the place, and for some strange reason these same kids are putting, Bentley wheels, Lambo and Merc wheels on their 10,000 dollar a4s? It's horrible

I really hope that doesn't happen to the e46 as it's one of my all-time favorite cars. Does it look dated? Hmmm, maybe in completely stock form but IMO an m3 with a CSL kit and proper suspension and wheels look as good as anything on the road today.

BMW sucks. I'm sure if it does come over, it'll probably be close to 100K with markup. Will anyone buy a CSL for that price?

I've seen some questionable ones on the M forum.

So it's already begun. So sad. There is nothing worse IMO than a blinged-out baller-mobile, I hesitate to call what these guys do to cars as "rice" because I like some of the JDM stuff. But here's what I mean:

I'm sure you guys have seen this monstrosity

That isn't even based off an M3 though?! I mean morons in the world are doing the same to a boxster to make a Carrera GT, replica Ferrari's and Lambo's, the list goes on.

the e46 m3 is a classic. my father has an 02 silver m3, and he plans on keeping it for a while even though he drives his 997tt more often, he and I still love the car.

and fyi, the car is a 4.8 second car to 60, and a low 13 second 1/4 mile car.

so to sum up your question, IMHO, never...

So with all of these opinions about if the E46 M3 is dated or not, what are some cars you guys WOULD consider dated????? Just curious......I'll start and say that anything older than a C6 Vette looks just plain OLD.....

The E92 is a better car in every way, except the weight which is unavoidable in any modern car these days, but like I said you can't feel it. The car is very well balanced.

I'm not a E92 fan boy either, I'm looking to get into a C63 AMG actually.
agreed. i finally got a good look at a black one bone stock rollin on i90 today... it's a newer looking, bigger, more aggressive looking car than the e46 m3.

if i got one, i'd most def slam it on a set of 20" BBS LMs assuming they make proper fitment as they did on the e46.... and add some sort of integrated deck spoiler to make the rear a bit more aggressive.

awesome ride. very tempting but man i fear i would regret getting out of the 911 family.
