So what are your thoughts on spending gobs of money for less performance?
Not to mention the e92 is heavier than the e46.
At the end of the day you'll still be in a 6 year old car and it's still comparing stock to modified. Wait until they play with these V8s. I'm not biased either I don't own either but I've driven both. My comment was RE: spending money to modify it, not buying it. Given the E46 and E92 were both '08 models costing the same and we could twin turbo either I'd get the E92.

WHO IN THE HELL CARES ABOUT STOCK TO MODDED< ESPECIALLY COMPARING PRICES AND PERFORMANCE OF THE TWO WHICH ARENT EVEN COMPARABLE??! WHO IN THE HELL CARES THAT THE E46 M3 CAN HAVE 700+ UNUSABLE HP?!? WHEN WILL PEOPLE GET OVER THE DAMN HP SHlT AND ENJOY A CAR FOR WHAT IT IS!

AND IMO, the E46 M3 is 100000x nicer then E92, especially with a Imola or Cinnamon, it's "rich" feeling and looking!

As for 0-60

E46 M coupe: 4.8 sec
E46 M convertible: 5.4 sec
E92 M coupe: 4.3 sec

It's going to be a few more years till I sell my M because it still turns head.

compared to the E9x's of course it looks dated, but on it's own in the open road, it still is admired and turns heads. I still luv my E46 M3, but I'm also looking forward to the E92 soon (especially when the prices go down...maybe a CPO).

Until you see a high schooler with his hat turned backwards driving one with music blasting.

That is the problem with these cars, they are going to get a horrible reputation from all of the 18-mid 20's idiots that are now going to be able to afford them. I hate to say it, but I will not drive a car because of the other people who own them.

Go to any private school parking lot and you will find a row of m3's.

but how many of those CPO'd cars are m5s and m6? im guessing, none. bmw does not certify the m5/m6 and will not be CPO'ing the new m3.

If you took that approach in the Metro DC area the only thing you could drive is a Prius.
