dinan

The stealership was telling me that dinan has an ecu upgrade to put the 535 at 400 horse. Is this true? If so has anyone here done this upgrade?

Thanks in advance
Jim

Well the N54 is very tunable, BurgerMotorsport and Vishnu Performance have came out with ecu upgrades that put it near 400 hp, I wouldn't doubt it.

^ I'm not completely sure, but im sure the tuners dyno'd the cars with their intake/exhaust/IC/DP modifications as well. I might have to read up on it later.

The dealer is overstating the gain a tad. Most Dinan tunes I have seen are putting out 375-380hp at the crank. Still not to shabby considering Dinan will cover the tune under their warranty. Go for it!

The Dinan warranty info is pretty clear that Dinan warrants their products not necessarily any damage possibly caused by their products. I think the previous poster suggesting to wait until the BMW warranty has run its course is the concern that BMW might not warrant a "problem" that BMW could claim was caused by an aftermarket modification. A lot depends on how "mod friendly" your dealer is.

Dinan tune is extremely conservative... you can get well over 400 hp with others.
