Need way more info on what you will be primarily using this car for. If Money isn't an issue, easy decision. GTR!

Having had 4 m3s and 1 GTR I will say the M3 is hands down the better daily but the GTR is a decent daily. The GTR wins by miles in the performance category and I felt the e92 I had was the most boring BMW M car made. If you want performance and a livable daily the GTR. If you like the German feel, nicer interior, class etc then BMW but do not drive a GTR.

I just bought a 2014 GTR. As much as I want to like it I just can't warm up to it. It's very fast but not an exciting car to drive, IMO. I also have a Panamera GTS and I find it to be more involving than the GTR. I didn't test drive the GTR, big mistake. Try and find one to drive before making a decision.

You mean M4? Judging by the F32 looks, I'd go with M4. Not too crazy about GTR aesthetics.

Props to you for being honest - that's tough to admit... I'm sorry to hear you're not happy with your GTR. I hope you find a nice replacement soon! Repped.

To the OP: I'd wait it out for the new M4... but the e92 would be a great daily - lots of luxury and comfort, but also some great power when you need it. I haven't driven the GTR, but I've driven an m3 extensively and loved it. Waiting for the new one to come out...

As a daily, I think the M is the better choice because of price point and practicality. I vote for buying the GTR though and sending it down to AMS!

You got some ***** bro! Buying a car for that kind of money and had never stepped foot in it. I did the same thing with my first E92M3 though

I dont know how often you change cars but this guy is gonna be waiting a couple years for an M4. Get an E9X now and re-evaluate when the M4 comes out. **** you might want something completely different by then OP.

Agree, would take a 991 over a bmw or nissan. You can't argue the performance of the gtr, over the others, but is boring to me. Have driven it extensively and it did nothing for me. BMW is losing its focus and direction with their m cars??? For 100k the 991S is excellent, or if you can find a 997.2tt that would be even better.
Drive a gtr, maybe you will like it. Pay attention to the way it feels and then jump in a 911.

I don't think they are losing focus on their "M" cars at all. Just that they are heading in a different direction with them. I think it's bull**** that they are going to call the new coupe an "M4"!?! I already have 4 of those! This Mtech package stuff is stupid too. Too the average person, they probably wouldn't know the difference between a 335 with Mtech package and an M3.

If we are talking about a 997.2tt or a 991 as a daily driver, why is the "M" even being brought up as an option? I can get 2 fully optioned low mile M3's for the price of either of those cars.
