The cars are low on torque because a cam shaft is designed to work optimally at one specific RPM. You cannot have a car that will make high RPM HP and have low end punch. The only way that i could imagine that you could do that would be to eliminate that cam shaft and use all solenoids for the valves.
Just ask Martin (IllM3) how well a fully prepped M3 can handle.

There is a guy named TazaM3 on e46fanatics who has a 600rwhp M3 and he has had no reliability issues. I have never heard of a S54B32 (the engine in the e46 M3) throwing a rob. They have forged internals and an iron block which should make it perfect for boost once the compression ratio is reduced.

.... and the motor will last 13.13 minutes on the track.

The car will be useless without a tremendous amount of work done to put down any sort of power its making. My lightened up stg 2+ sc'd M3 with 460+ whp was useless for the first 3 gears on stock gearing, 285's in the rear, suspension setup numberous diff ways and it SUCKED, no traction! For the lack of torque people claim (400 crank) or so, the throttle response and power in first or 2nd was enough to instantly shred the tires!
I dont think any of us are worried. I for one LOVE E46 M3's and will have another as a daily replacing my G35, but i would never ever go FI on it EVER again!
BTW HPF wanted me to be one of the first with it, but i told them no for several reasons, 1st and foremost is the amount of power on a stock motor, i dont care what anyone says, they will have alot of complaints but i wish them luck!

And he is even giving you a choice between a drag race or a twist session.
Either way my money is on RTV12.

There's a dude on here with a 650hp M3 and it only traps 123mph, can we expect similar performance from this mighty beast?

Right now there test car is completely stock, stock internals, exhaust... and they are making about 800bhp (677rwhp) at 15psi. This combined with a 8000RPM redline and good gearing will make this a car to be reckoned with on highway pulls. The M3 can also have weight stripped out of it very easily. It is also a wonderful chasis as far as handling is concerned.
Moral of the story is that with an E46 M3 and about 30K you can have a carbon fiber bodied, 800HP, 3000lb beast
