LSD for 987
Yes, that's the one. Worth every penny if you do heavy track duty. If you do more street driving, you can go with the quaife TBD (not true LSD) - it gets good reviews.
You do not have to disable PSM (is that what you mean by brake diff?)

Thanks for the link,
I don't know the technical name for it, but the system using the rear brakes to act as a sort of a limited slip.
If the warranty problem can be blamed on the aftermarket part, yes. However, due to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act they can't void the warranty in its entirety. For example if your power window stopped working and needed a new motor they would have to cover that, unless, of course, they can attribute the window motor failure to the installation of the LSD.

Which part of the car would an aftermarket quaife LSD void? I've just switch over to a 2008 Boxster S from an M3 with factory LSD. I wonder if the extra $2000 of a LSD upgarde is worth it or not for driving DE events....
Even if I only drove my CS on the street the rest of its life, I would still absolutely have a TBD/LSD installed. The "electronic LSD" that keeps being brought up is just some marketing ploy that has you confused. It is simply traction control to keep one wheel from spinning under too much power. It does not in any way put that power to the other wheel which is what a TBD/LSD does.
I didn't notice you were from Canada, I have no knowledge if Magnuson-Moss exists there or how you would go about investigating it.
A LSD related warranty claim would be at the dealers discretion, I'm sure they could argue an engine failure, transmission failure, anything driveline related could be blamed on the LSD. Then again the dealer would have to know the LSD has been installed to point a finger at it.
