Honk w/ alarm arming?

Is there any way to turn that on or is it something I have to go to the dealer for?

You know, I was wondering the same thing. The owners manual does mention it, but I think this does need to be programmed at the dealer.

Nope, there is no audible alert. The RemoteKey will do it and I believe there is or was a group going on. Best money I ever spent!

Oops, I forgot... on your '01 Boxster, you can leave your center armrest open and it should honk when you arm. Doesn't have to be open all the way, just not latched. At least that's how my '01 C2 cab worked, it tricked the alarm system into thinking that a secure access point was not closed.

^^^lol! i learn something new everyday! i have an 01 boxster and didn't have a clue about the alarm honk. mine honks no matter what, and my armrest is always closed and latched. huh. oh well, i guess i like that it honks when i used the remote, because as i walk away from it, i don't have to do the "look back" to make sure the alarm is set.

My car only honks if you hold down the button for couple seconds when you lock, and if you don't want it to honk then you just quickly push the lock button.

It's not a dealer programmable item. Porsches don't come with audible confirmation and the honk that I mentioned is something the car does to tell you something is wrong. I guess the Boxster is different.
