Used Cayman S question

Hello all,

I found the perfect 2007-2008 Cayman S, with less than 20k miles that I want and it is listed for 42k at a dealer. The most I could possibly spend is 37k. I offered them 37k and explained my situation and the salesman basically scoffed at me and said it wasn't even worth his time. Is that a reasonable offer? If it is, does anyone have any advice on how I could convince them to accept that offer? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just bought an 06 Cayman S with 15K miles, and I can say that if you get the 07 with the same miles for 37K, it's a GREAT price.

Thanks, it's exactly what I want but its just a few thousand more than I can afford. I really should only be looking at 33 or 34k but I can barely stretch to 37. I was hoping they would be able to come down a bit...

The difference between an '07 and '08 can be $3k.

I just purchased an '07 S. $42k considering the miles and certification is a fair price. Unless they traded and paid low $, it would be difficult to get down to $37. I think 39 or 40 would be a great price.

You made a bit of a mistake by showing your cards but it's not out of the question. Maybe try another salesman?
