battery

hey guys, new 2 6speed. I was wondering how much would an oem battery be for an 07 cayman s ? and if any of you guys have used different batteries that were cheaper. Lastly is there anything I need to do when changing out the battery? any advice would be appreciated.

I replaced my battery with an Interstate MTP H7, 875CA, 640CCA, 135AH. Same size as OEM and has the drain at the top.

Walmart 94-R and Autozone make some of the best identical replacement batteries. Always check the manufacture date sticker on the side for freshness (very important)

I went with the Interstate MTP-91 - slightly smaller (and less $$) than the H7 but still a direct bolt-in. Make sure you get the vent kit with the battery.

The Morr from the dealer is $350 to $400 for the battery and diagnosis. The Interstates or Walmarts ( around $100 ) will fit or go with a Deka ( $70 ) to save 35 pounds.

I purchased a rebuilt battery from interstate and it was $50. Has worked great for over a year so far.

I just installed an MTP-91 today. I didn't attach the previous vent hose from the OEM battery to the new Interstate.

Do you need a vent kit from Interstate or should I connect the existing OEM hose? I didn't see a place to do this. Thoughts?
