Question dumb idea that (could) work

So here's the plan
1. buy a rusted out Chevy corvair and strip the shell off the frame
2. buy a wreaked Porsche cayman/boxster with the 2.7 flat 6
3. separate the shell of the Porsche from its frame
4. make the cayman/boxster longer because its about a foot shorter than the corvair
5. after some cleaning up, put the shell of the corvair on the boxster/cayman body
6. make it have between 300-350 horse since it will be light weight
7. hopefully the cayman/boxster has a manual stock but if it doesn't then I'll buy and put tin a 5/6 speed manual for fun factor (although if the cayman/boxster comes in an automatic when I buy it it might not be the easiest thing putting a manual in)
8. it goes zooom

thoughts?

That sounds like an incredibly ambitious and creative project! A Corvair body on a stretched Cayman/Boxster chassis would definitely turn heads — old-school looks with modern handling and power. The 2.7 flat-six pushing 300+ hp in a lightweight setup could be a blast to drive. The biggest challenges will be structural alignment, weight distribution, and getting the manual swap right if it’s not a native setup. If you can pull this off, it’ll be one wild and unique machine — definitely worth documenting the whole build!
