Cayenne with problems again
Cayenne with problems again
Again, today, I was driving in Sport mode, and apparently my CS threw an alarm message while driving, saying that "Chassis system fault". Gonna bring it to dealer tomorrow, I'll keep you updated, however, this car deserves to be sold immediately. My Granturismo is handling these winter conditions much better ...
wow! sorry to hear about all the problems. I would be very upset too. I think Porsche should give you a new Cayenne S and take your car to study all the problems it is having to fix their Quality Control.
chassis system warning

Got your PM, posted here to make it FYI for all.....
Not sure if its the same warning but my warning read "Chassis System". Here is the story.......
-Was doing my McDonalds breakfast run on Saturday morning (1 sausage egg mcmuffin and 2 extra hashbrowns). On the way home i heard some kind of rubbing sound from the drivers front tire. On sunday, i got my first warning "chassis system". Sunday night, i noticed a pretty good size leak on the ground under the front end of the car. Took it in to the dealer on Monday morning. On the way to the dealer, i noticed the car was not as stiff. Jerking the steering wheel back and forth lead the car to wobble a little, i never felt this before. I guessed the leak was directly releated to PDCC and i was right. Turns out that one of the tubes running to the pdcc reservoir just desided to spring a leak. Picked it up yesterday and all is going well.
I did notice last night that my "passanger air bag off" warning light is on, have no clue what the hell all that is about??? anyone, anyone? Is there a on/off switch somewhere?
Only good that came out of this is how much of a huge difference i noticed in handeling with and with out pdcc. Its pretty noticeable with out a doubt. Also purchased clear corners with amber bulbs and had them installed while the car was there.
If no one is in the passenger seat, the air bag will be off.
Okay, this morning, there was no problem with the car, it cleared its own alarm message somehow and now everything is perfect. BUT!! Here is what I guess. I have rubber floor mats and it's always snowy here. When I get into my car, my shoes always have snow around, and these mats they don't absorb water, they just let the water stay on the mats until it evaporates, however, when you drive so fast, this water amount slides back underneath driver's seat and reaches the electronics there. This is very dangerous and can give severe damage to your car. It happened to me once, don't let it happen to you. Towing your car is not fun
.
I am guessing the chassis system fault was because of the same reason, the water contact problem and cleared itself today. No more problems.
mrwireless, can you operate the car? Can you put it in Sport mode?
Wantone, how much will you pay for it? I can sell it at anytime. It's a basalt black with sand beige interior, pcm 2.1, bose, cd changer, heated seats and wheel, air suspension, bi xenons, soft look leather, memory seats, satellite radio, variable assist steering wheel, has 6300miles on it.
Airbag light will be off, if there is less load on the seat, airbag off light will turn on, if there is nothing on the seat and airbag off light is on, then there is a problem.

Wrong.
If the passenger weighs less than 50 lbs., the airbag deactivates automatically.
The car assumes a child or small person is sitting there and could be injured by the airbag in case of a deployment.
If no one is sitting there it should be on.
There is no switch, there is a sensor in the seat.

I think the default mode is for the bag to be activated and the light to be off. Therefore, if you are in an accident the bag will blow even if nothing is in the seat.
Gotcha. Didn't mean to come off as pompous. I was just trying to clarify. I had the same question at one point too.
I thought my airbag light was defective at first. In my other vehicle, the "airbag off" light is ALWAYS on unless an adult is sitting in the seat. On CS the light is off if no one is in the seat, and still off if an adult is in the seat. If a child or some other light item is on the seat, the light goes on.
I actually appreciate that the stupid light isn't always on.

It was recomended that i drive the car to the dealer with caution so i never tried to put the car in sports mode.
