Hardwiring a V1... what fuse cause 41 aint workin???????

I'm going crazy here. I'm hardwiring the V1 radar into my car. Its all done, I connected it into fuse 41 (ignition).. BUT the radar won't turn off when I leave the car. What am I doing wrong?? Shouldn't it turn on when the ignition is turned on?? Does the Cayenne always have a source of continuous power going through it. HELP

I don't know if this helps, but I use a Escort 9500 plugged into my cigarette lighter outlet and if I leave it plugged in when the car is completely off, it remains powered on...I have to take the plug out manually everytime (annoying as hell).

Use a voltmeter, look for a fuse that has power only when ign is on. Look like fuse 41 is a constant 12v

Exactly what I'm experiencing.. theres a constant on every fuse I checked.. even w/ a meter. I hate turning it on and off.. so annoying.

Anyone have a suggestion??

Not sure how you feel about tapping into wire itself. There's a black wire coming out of the main ign harness that's hot only with key on

I tapped into a fuse on the passenger side with my V1. You just pull the piece of trim on the end of the dash and there is another fuse panel there. At least there is on my 05 C.

Ok... I'll try that out. I'd be thrilled if it works. I don't feel like tapping into a wire.. the fuse method is the simplest.

Here is an in depth DIY article on hardwiring a radar detector (V1) by using the switched power source from the HomeLink accessory.

there are fuses on the drivers side that are not always powered on, thats how i connected my v1. if i have a chance some point soon, ill check what fuse i have it linked into. but mine is goes off as soon as the car is turned off and goes on when the car is started.

I would love if you could tell me what fuse it is... big help. I tried multiple fuses on the drivers side. Haven't tried the passengers side.

After trying multiple fuses, I got a air suspension warning of some type... I think it was because I was plugging in the ignition fuse and others so many times that the computer was getting pissed.

I used the homelink wire and it was very easy, and wire was short and out of the way
