Psm???

What exactly am I turning off when I push the PSM button. I love the fact that the tranny becomes more agressive, and it doesnt start off in 2nd gear.

I'm sure I'll be corrected if wrong but I believe traction control is extremely limited/off, computer switches to more agressive fuel mapping, air suspension goes sport, and the transmission get tweaked. Some cars may also get a revised exhaust note switch too.

I dont mind if the traction control is off, is it really needed with AWD? Im concerned if there any other saftey features being turned off.

that's wrong. Turning PSM off will not change any suspension setting, however it changes the tranny response. Exhaust and air suspension settings are changed when you enable the sport mode

PSM BUTTON DISABLES ALL SAFETY AND TRACTION CONTROLS
ESSENTIALLY TURNS OFF THE COMPUTER.

ABS
Traction Control
All Wheel Drive
Transmission Mapping Harder longer shifts
Rev Limiter
Assisted Steering

Its bad news i would recommend 100% against turning that off

your vehicle is all time awd, so there is no switch for AWD, turning PSM off does NOT switch ABS, All Wheel Drive, Assisted Steering off. It turns traction control off, your vehicle will not gear up when you are at the rev limit, gear mapping changes, ESP is disabled, ASR is disabled. Sometimes it is a good idea to turn PSM off when driving on ice and snow if you think you can handle the vehicle better than the computer (yes you definitely can). Otherwise, no reason to turn PSM off as it is not really interfering with your driving performance nor drifts.

With PSM off you really have no need to worry because as soon as the computer senses you approaching the safe operating envelope limits it turns itself back on. (PSM=Please Save Me)
