How important is the coolant pipe upgrade on an 04 Cayenne TT?
I'm guessing if you were to use a flexible mirror and a flashlight you would be able to see what is under the manifold as far as plastic lines or the new aluminum setup, I just know that they use a borescope to check the source of leak as that's what was on my Cayenne's repair statement.
Has this problem been corrected in subsuquent years? I am looking for a 2008 CTT and one that I just saw stated the two pipes were replaced as part of the CPO process. That being said it appears Porsche has not addressed it through 2008.
My understanding is the 2008+ Cayennes still have potential issues, but they redesigned the coolant lines from the previous version, the newer versions attach cylinder head to cylinder head with a pressed and glued apparatus that can give issues. Maybe someone can chime in if this is correct...
You can find that info on either Renntech or Rennlist. Forgot which one but I think it is the latter. It's a way to find out if your coolant pipes are metal or plastic without removing the covers. My indy used that technique to confirm that my pipes are still plastic.
Looks as if it all sits under the manifold to me. Updated lines shown.
