I'm new here and just bought a 09 S which will be my DD and Tow Vehicle.
Yeah, most of what's here is in the owner's manual, and some is actual wrong in the manual (like to program Homelink with an older garage opener, you actually need to aim your remote at the far right Homelink button...NOT towards the forward part of the roof console as per the manual)

But I have a question which hasn't been asked here, nor is it covered in the owners manual...maybe somebody knows...
With the tailgate open, or the rear window open...is it possible to turn off the luggage compartment lighting? Virtually all other SUVs do have a switch for this...but mine just stays on regardless of all the interior lighting being switched off.
What's the trick? I can't be the only one who sometimes wants to leave the hatch or rear glass open sometimes?
Thanks in advance for any help

It should automatically switch off after a certain period of time - I believe it's 15 minutes.

for the nay-sayers, this is a great thread. My 06 CTTS was delivered Friday and it took me 5 minutes to learn how to open the fuel door, expected a switch inside lol. Yes, i found the info in the manual but i would bet there are manuals that have disappeared over the years...

Homelink

I'll add: "You can lower the position of the fuel guage needle by pressing hard on the pedal on the right!"

Regarding setting up the homelink...the homelink website has our vehicles listed with great directions per vehicle.

Re Homelink, it was actually through their help (Chamberlain) that I finally resolved it. We went back/forth several times, with different scenarios and possibilities.

If all else would have failed, next step would have been to buy a separate remote transmitter. I understand this is quite common

Cayenne designers have built in a feature that monitors drive shaft bearing bushing.
Once it wears out, you will be reminded when accelerating by violent thuding right under the center console. Lacks an led or some kind of warning light though.
Someone compared it to a midget using a sledge hammer under the console (I wouldn't know - never met a midget that could fit in there to try).

It doesn't apply to the wood steering wheel... (not on the first gen Cayennes).

This I have been through...scared the living **** out of me when that brutal thumping suddenly began under the center console! Drove it as steady as I could right to the workshop for repair. Love the comparison though; in theory I'd say it's pretty spot on
