Question Problems installing OEM iPod kit

A friend found an unused OEM iPod kit for my 2009 GTS. We did the install earlier today. It *seemed* to go smoothly. The iPod gets power from the adapter cable and the PCM works fine.

However, the car does not find the iPod when I scan the FM dial (as instructed by the included manual from Porsche).

Does this kit need to be activated by a dealer or did I get the wrong kit? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks, Jim

P.S. This kit interface has two ports: AUX Jack and iPod specific; no USB port exists.

I'm assuming this is for PCM 2.1, not 3.0 as you said no USB jack. If the kit was for PCM 2.1, then you do not need your car programmed. The interface box has a little switch on the back that sets the frequency of the RF modulator. Did you set that?

There is also an instruction PDF floating around for this kit.

Your car only needs programming if the kit is for PCM 3.0.

The kit being described is for 2.1...which is a simple RF modulator.

I didn't see any place to set the frequency of the modulator, but I will check again. Any pointers to the installation manual would be appreciated. I can't find one anywhere!
