Having received and given many tips here, I turn to ya'll for advice:

2005 CTT

What's the best replacement battery? Might Optima make a suitable one?

Thanks in Advance,

Optima works great.

2 others I would recommend are:
Odyssey

and if you want a really lightweight battery I would go with Braille.

Hope this helps.

Any model number on the Optima battery? That's the one I want to use. Thanks.

Does the 34R red top fit? It's taller, narrower and the posts stick up and are closer in. How does one mount/fit it??? Have you placed one in a Cayenne and what mods did you make to get it to work???

Interstate is what I used and it came with like an 8 year warranty I think.

crowland will become famous soon enough
Take a look at the Odyssey batteries as mentioned above, I am not a fan of Optimas after going through about 6 of them for my boat stereo and they are overpriced for what they are.

Are you running any additional accessories or just looking for a replacement? As far as starting you dont need anything special, just the recommended CCAs.

If you are looking at AGM specific take a look at kinetik, 4xspower and deka - I am assuming you are trying to run a stereo, tvs or other powered equipment. If not, I would just stick with an Interstate. There is no need to complicate things unless you have a reason (just my opinion)

+1
plus there is 800 number on the battery and if your out of town.they can tell you the nearest dealer.and they melt the date code in the battery.
so even if you don't have a receipt they will be able to warranty it.

I went with a VW Toureg factory battery. OEM quality without the Porsche sting $$$. I think it was $175
