06 CTT-S brakes..

how much would it cost for a break job on a 06 CTT-S?
what's the OEM pad (brand? size? price? product number?)
what's a comparable aftermarket/alternative brand on this cars?

how about the rotors?

thanks in advance.

Dunno - what's broken?

Wait - do you mean BRAKE job? (That one is like chalk squeeling on a blackboard for me.. and it's encouraged by a lot of state highway divisions with "Give us a break!".. every time I see one of those damn signs I wince..) BTW - you did get the title right..

For alternatives - just search Ebay. LOTS of brake components for Cayennes there, some of them may actually work.

Maybe your dealer. I'm increasingly amazed at the lack of knowledge about factory stuff at my local dealer.

Do you mean you're amazed:

- That members here don't know about factory stuff?

- Or your dealer's ignorance about factory stuff?

I'm all confusulated..

My dealers lack of knowledge about simple factory stuff.....and their willingness to charge you to try to learn it.

I'm a regular at local Techart dealer. They answer pretty much every questions I've asked. I assume a Porsche dealer can do better.

I am using centric premium one rotors and ebc redstuff pads. I am very happy so far. VERY LITTLE dust. Though I would recommend the yellowstuff pads, they are a bit more aggressive.

discountbrakes.com served me very well and you cannot beat their prices.
Front pads, rotors, sensors, and hardware ran me less than 450. The front brakes are an extremely easy diy.

I bought from this guy on Ebay:

http://motors.shop.ebay.com/Brakes-/...=p4506.c0.m282

Although I was skeptical, these parts are indeed high quality, genuine TRW and straight from Germany. The owners are of Chinese decent, which explains the less than stellar grammar. I also purchased through Paypal outside of Ebay and they gave an additional 7% discount.

Multiple shops around town have steered me away from aftermarket brakes and rotors.

i have not changed my fronts out yet but need too. I have decided to go with OEM.
