New Owner!!

Hi everyone, I just bought my 2004 Cayenne S on Saturday! It has 69k on it. Drove about 200 miles the first day i got it, and results are it is awesome! I switched from a infiniti G35 to this and can say the Cayenne is more fun to drive.

Just wondering what the typical maint. markers are and what is to be done.
Thanks!

congrats!!! Glad you like it. I switched from a lightly modded Evolution VIII, and I definitely like driving my CTT beast much more !

Congrats on the purchase. The CS is a wonderful vehicle.

The full maintenance schedule can be found in the owner's manual, if you got one with the purchase (sometimes they are missing). The recommended oil change interval is way too long, IMHO. I think it's 15K - I can't remember because I usually change mine every 7,000 or so.

Other than routine maintenance, I'd be prepared to replace your plastic coolant pipes in the near future, assuming they weren't replaced by the prior owner. Other common items to be aware of for a 2004 CS in that mileage range are water pump, fuel pump(s) and possibly cardan shaft. The coils have most likely been replaced by this point, but not necessarily. Brakes on my CS tend to last about 40K miles, so you're probably not too far from brake work also.

Enjoy your new vehicle... they are great if you keep up with the maintenance.

If you're a paying member of www.renntech.org you can get one there for first gen Cayennes. I'm not sure they have a 2004 manual specifically - but they will have one from the first gen cars that should give you everything you need.

Do you have any maintenance records from the previous owner?

We registered with renntech and didn't have to pay anything and were able to read the 04 owners manual online last week. You can also find them on eBay.

Excellent! I know some of their content requires a paid membership, but it sounds like the owner's manual isn't in that category!
