06 CTT cat bypass pipes..
i traded in my 05CS with an 06CTT that has only 14,000 miles on it,.. brand new unreeal.. now im thinking of some mods.. i want to install air filters (but they say on the CTT, not good cause it will cause issues with some sensors), i wanna install the cat by pass (but i was going through rennlist forum last night and some said that you will lose HP and some Torque.. some had them installed and dyno the car and lost power..
im confused now any body knows anything about it??
thanks really need the help

They are a great upgrade, I had them on my 08 CTT. Improved sound, quicker boost response, and lighter weight.
I have a set for sale in the classifieds, if interested.
thanks

rennlist people are old and crabby. They talk down to someone who likes to mod because their wives wont let them or they are scared of the beasts power.
A lot of people who say that stuff don't know what they are talking about so don't let it turn you off to some mods if you want them.
A good place to start is intakes, the bypasses are a great mod. A better muffler will give you some more power and better exhaust rumble. Some bovs to hold the boost better and provide better response. You'll have a lot of fun with your CTT!!!

hahaha.... I tried rennlist at first and still go there sometimes when it is slow. However, the demographic is much much more conservative (read: boring)
Even though they may not explain themselves, the guys on RL know what they are talking about.
If you buy a lifetime filter like K&N that often comes super oily, it has the potential to foul the MAF sensors on some cars. Either blow out all the extra oil and run them slightly dry, or get BMC filters to avoid this problem.
ANYTIME you open up the exhaust system, you WILL lose power in part of the power band and gain power in another part of the power band. That is a simple law of physics and it applies to every situation.
Hope that helps.
