HID headlights intensity

As it gets darker here sooner, I end up driving with lights on more often. Recently noticed that the headlights are nowhere near as bright as they were when I first got the car.
Have any of you noticed this too?
What is the solution here? Do I need new bulbs? If yes, what would you suggest to get to have a really nice white, intense light.
Really appreciate it.

change bulbs, clear lens, polish glass. make sure that lens reflector is still shiny not faded.

Great. Thanks for info. I'll have to take a peek at the bulbs and start looking for replacements.

Decided to peek at the bulbs and observed same as what you described. Now I know the direction to resolve for sure.

the headlight itself gets cloudy etc etc due to exposure to element uv etc but
I think the bulb itself gets dim over time.
I just replace bulbs every year or 2

I think I'm going to go with 5000K. That light temp appears to me as white as you can get, before starting to go into the blue hues.
Is the own osram or Phillips the only viable choices, or have any of you purchased other vendor, with good results?

Looking into the same thing, once I figure out how to adjust them higher.

I'm looking at the 6k version.

wintermute is infamous around these parts
I've had the 6000k ones, the light output was horrible, they were too blue and didn't illuminate the road sufficiently, ended up going back to 4300k.

It could have been because they were only $99 a pair, so unless you can see some decent 6000k ones in the flesh, i would be wary.

You get what you pay for some times. I would think that the 4300K (daylight) version would give a better light situation without any type of color influence.

I don't want to look eurotrash but, my Mercedes has a nice settle purple color to it and it looks great.

6000k is less brighter than oem 4300k...it may be whiter though
you really can't beat brightness of oem 4300k

I have a set of 6000k if anyone wants it just paypal me shipping and gallon of gas to go to post office and you can have it. say 15 buck?
Wife drives the cayenne often so i thought i'd go with 6000k. She followed me one day and hated the color. I bought 8000k and of course love it.
zentac brand or something like that...i can check

Had to change out the Cornering lights so, i decided to check on the Low beam bulbs.

Before

After cleaning with a razor blade (exacto knife.)

Lights do seem to be brighter. I will still plan to replace them next week though.

Drove 3 hours in the Rocky Mountains at night and did notice a difference in brightness.

How do you like the 8ks? Do you think the brightness is as good as 6k?
