Thinking to rig a way to use power bleeder to swap coolant fluid. Basically getting new screw cap, will get valve to hook up from cap into power bleeder. Will have small opening to vent any air. Then will get down, open the screw to start draining coolant, while at same time build some pressure to put new fluid into the system. Will not be hard pressure, just enough to put the stuff in replacing old with new. Would keep air from enterng system this way.

Anyone see issues with doing that? Provided done properly, would that be ok/something beneficial for car to do? Thanks

 

Lol, sorry but that's a terrible idea. The new will mix with the old. The Cayenne cooling system bleeds well. You shouldn't have any problems.

 

I was thinking similar to bleeding brakes. New liquid pushing out the old. Some would mix but you would have replaced liquid without undue air pockets. No?

 

I don't think you will have problems with air pockets. Follow the FSM instructions. Bring it up to operating temp while filling until the thermostat opens. Make sure that you fill up the expansion tank and after the first heat cycle it will bleed itself to a point while cooling. IMHO you don't need to reinvent the wheel on this one.



No, I do not think it will work the way you are thinking. You cannot control the path the fluid follows.
