Am I Being cheap?

Had the wife call in reference to having oil changed at 10,000 miles.Since this seems to be a happy medium between service and piece of mind. They said that it would be around$230.00 bucks. And the 20,000 mile standard service will run about $600.00.

I have a viper and and cummings they both run $145-160 a change.Just curious why another $70-$85.Besides they are dodges.

I would change it myself but think I red something on the forum they don't(Porsche)doesn't like you doing this.Dodge is the same damn way.

Thanks
Jamie

If you are going to change it again at 20K I'd go to Sunset Imports for the parts and do it myself. The other thing you can do is find a P-car specialist to change the oil.

do it yourself. as long as you have receipts etc for the service, your warranty is valid.

20k service for 600 seem excessive. it should be around 350-450. maybe your dealer does more items?

oil change should cost you $150 at most indept. it's a little more costlier since engine holds 9 qts. i imagine viper holds 5 qts?

My dealer, plus and another local dealer, gets $240 for an oil change. A P-car specialist nearby gets $180.
Like djantlive said, always keep the receipts to protect your warranty. Call and ask around- my dealer gives a PCA member discount: 20% on parts and 25% on labor- just don't forget the card.

I have a coupon from my Bay Area dealer offering an oil change for $150. The amount you're being quoted is definitely excessive.

no, u r just being realistic.
it's ur money and you should demand more.
it's true a lot of us are paying that much cuz we have no choice depending on where u live. but if u can find a place to do it cheaper or if you can do it then go for it boss.
