So the clock was only offered for a few months, it is not even available as an option. I am just curious to know if the owners' manual of the most recent Cayennes have instructions for the clock? Because I know when the clock was included a few months ago the manual did mention it. It will be interesting if Porsche has 2 sets of manual for the same model year.

DkTai, what software version is your PCM? I assume the clock is connected to the PCM to get the time signal, and the actual PCM unit for both with or without the standard clock should be the same. I like to know if you need different software version to control the clock, perhaps someone with a clock equipped Cayenne can also tell us what PCM version they have? If Porsche had offered the clock as a standard equipment, even for only a few months, replacement parts (clock and the connecting cable) must be available for purchase. It should then be fairly easy for those who want to add the clock, assuming you don't need a different PCM software or firmware programming by the dealer.

We took delivery of two 2012 Cayennes (long story), and both have the clock. But where in the manual does it mention anything about it?

DkTai - Perhaps the clock is a US only offering and not included in Canada?

I just finalized my Cayenne Diesel order last week (in Toronto) for a June 26 build completion date. My salesman told me (without me even bringing it up) that the 2013 model will come standard with the clock. So if he's correct, definitely not a US only thing.

That means Porsche is including the clock in the earlier production of 2012 Cayenne and starting in 2013 but not in the later 2012 models. This is so strange.

It would have been free in my build but I opted for the Compass. First day I had the car I thought I had made a mistake. The digital clock on the dash is small and and has little presence. By day 4, I have grown to like the Spinning Compass and wouldn't trade if I could.

My car build was March 6th, and how exactly do I check PCM Version. My dealer told me if there are any new updates he will install them for me so I guess I'll get the clock sooner or later lol.

You can check PCM version by pressing the option button. You dealer may give you software updates but I doubt they will give you the actually clock if it was not there at time of delivery.

I got everything you need for a clock but I am 50/50. What do you think.

That's not a factory clock. What kind is it? Is it back lit? Are the arms illuminated?

It is an Autometer clock. I can not get the wires for the factory clock. The opening is 2 5/8 inch and auto meter is the only one that makes an off the shelf gauge that will fit. It is back lit.

I ordered the dash insert from suncoast. The opening for the clock is about 2.5 inches. I could only find 1 clock that is 2 5/8 an inch. There is hundreds that are 2 1/16 but they are too small. I am 50/50 on the quality and if I should have it installed. What do you think?

50/50 seems about right.
I would take a close look at the red color clock hand, and the finish and quality of the metal surround.
