went to order the suncoast lights, but was told (by them) that when they tested it on the new cayennes it gave an error on the dash.

stumbled on these:
http://aznoptics.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_4&product s_id=8

simple plug and play for the license plate bulbs, 19 bucks, no conversion kit needed, and no error message. 5000K model matches the LED DRLs, etc. also comes in amber for the side markers.

Suncoast LED Replacements

I ordered the Suncoast LED replacement boards (one can hardly call them bulbs anymore!) primarily because they state on their site that they are now error-free, at this date.

Sadly, the ones they sent are defective, producing a dash message and they need to be replaced. I have an RMA and will return the boards, apparently at my cost, for a new set. I'm going to give them another try and hope the new ones will function properly.

Had an easy time with the clear side markers from Suncoast, but they supply normal amber bulbs with their kit.

All replacements are for my 2012 CTT purchased in late August.

There may have been, but it 'was so easy, a caveman can do it'

There is only one way the plugs get plugged into one another and the light comes out of the tailgate with a simple push of a clip. The shape of the light is such that you push the resistor to the one side where there will be room once you push the light into the housing and you're done!

just thought I would give this thread a bump since it's been a while and things have changed a bit

came across these 2 for the 958

Porsche OEM Parts: http://www.ecstuning.com/ES2217929/

and the ZIZA LED with built in resistor: http://www.ecstuning.com/ES2500790/

reason I am not considering the Racing Dash kit is because it might be way too bright with the 18xLED. My goal is to get it as close to OEM as possible

since the prices are some what affordable for these 2, I will buy them and try it and post my experience with them

a lot of VW are getting the OEM porsche one instead of the VW that turbostang originally posted since it's cheaper and works the same

Using these in mine and have had no issues and canbus units with built in resistors so error free . Rear plates and also front sidemarkers (swapped for clear) and blinks normal rate when signaling. $19 only per set and free shipping.

How long have you had them? They look great, just the right amount of brightness.

I've had them in for about 6 months now. Simple DIY. Plate light housing is attached via tabs so just use your fingers or a flat head against the tab and it pops right out. Then just twist the base off the housing to have access to the bulb. Pull it out, plug in the LED, check for polarity, and good to go.

I ordered a set of AZN Optics to try out. They weren't terribly expensive so I thought it was worth a try. If they do overheat, going to try the OEM ones from ECS.
