Trading in AM vantage for CTT

Three years ago turned in my 996 turbo for a 4.7 L Aston Martin Vantage. I love the car, as I loved the turbo, but because I live in WA it rains so much I hardly drive the Aston. So I am turning it in for a CTT. If I have a depreciating asset I should use it. Will miss the Aston, but the CTT is the best of both worlds (sports car vs SUV). January build date

Congrats. Funny, my biz partner has almost exactly the same line of vehicles as you. 996 C4 Cab, AM 4.7 Vantage and now considering a CTT. He's dumping the C4 for the CTT. In Cali, he gets more months to enjoy the AMV8.

Funny that I am considering trading my CTT for a Vantage. How reliable is the Vantage?

The Vantage has been a great car . No problems whatsoever . The one I am trading in is only because I only drive it on sunny days and therefore I don't use it much. My wife already said I could get another sport car later on, but I think the vantage is one of the most beautiful and fun cars to drive out there right now.
I ordered a meteor gray, expresso interior with silver stitch, premium package plus, PDCC, Sport package, burmester stereo, panoramic roof, ceramic brakes, voice control, 21 inch turbo wheels, roof transport system, trailer hitch, front and rear skid plates, rear entertainment system, sat radio, compass on dash, and insulated privacy glass

His is an 09 SMG 10k miles. Other than a few rattles, handbrake malfunction, and body panel re-adjustments and replacement radio (all under warranty), the car has started everytime and never left him stranded.

There is a nagging problem with the SMG 6 spd though. 4 times it has just abruptly shut off on him. Took it to dealer many times, latest software and cannot diagnose. Also, the clutch take up on the SMG unit is pretty inconsistent. There was one time he was making a quick left turn and halfway thru the turn (with oncoming cars approaching), the tranny just let the engine rev while his wife was yelling at him "go go go! We're gonna get hit" and then the clutch suddenly grabs and they did a lurch-chirp escape from harm.

I think the achilles heel of the car is the SMG. 6 speed should be fine.
