Anyone using a dash cam?

I'm thinking of buy/installing one and would be interested in hearing real world experiences or recommendations?

I got this fitted to all our vehicles:
http://www.goodluckbuy.com/2-5-tft-c...-recorder.html

It's cheap, works well, has built in battery, uses cigarette lighter plug to charge and trigger on/off. However, I've discovered it causes interference to the PCM navigation, it will drop all satellites for some reason. Strange because I thought Porsche put their antenna on the roof? Works fine with our other cars' navigation, even those with GPS antenna in the dash.

Here in Socal there are always young punks in bimmers or Hondas that drives like they own the road. Some a$$hole cut my wife off in her 1 week old Cayanne, which is what prompted the install.

Waking up an old thread.

Am very interested in purchasing a dash cam. Would have been handy to have with regards to some past events - such as when some guy backed into me years ago and claimed I hit him, or when I witnessed a three car accident happen earlier this month and the instigator failed to stop at the scene.

Anybody care to share any experiences w/ dash cams in their Cayenne or other vehicle? The ones already mentioned have some good qualities but looking for something a bit more stealthy...

I recommend Contour for a dash cam.
http://contour.com/

Unlike the GoPro camera, Contour Cams are not bulky and wontlook out of place. You can have it easily installed in the corner of yourwindshield without it being that noticeable.

The Contour is also very easy to turn on, even when wearing gloves at the track.

Thanks to both for your replies. I stayed online ALL NIGHT and did homework. I ended up ordering something quite similar to Contour - by a company called FineVU. Uses a Sony lens, all black, wide angle, and easily removable - it's on a swivel mount and comes out of the mount easy. Key with the FineVU - it has a battery inside of it and takes short video clips with a "parking mode" function that does not drain your car battery. That was a strong selling point for me.

http://www.blackboxmycar.com - GREAT website to learn about latest advances in dash cam technology. Lots of videos and comparisons.

There are dash cam apps for just driving around for the iPhone. I was thinking about getting this one when I get a windshield mount.

We just launched our new action sports camera site and will be constantly adding new parts to the site. Everything that I list on the site is stuff that we keep IN STOCK. Please take a look at the site for any of your camera needs and give me some feedback on the site as it is a brand new site and is a work in progress right now that I am fine tuning.

I might be late with this post but I figure I'll do it anyway. This dashcam review came across my news feed this morning. Didn't have a chance to read the entire thing yet but Jalopnik reviews are pretty spot on.

i was going to say almost everyone is korea has this on their cars, usually front and rear. my friend had his thrown in and installed by the dealer for free when he bought his F10 bmw there. they usually record 24/7 as proof or evidence if anything happens while parked or driving.
