2011 Cayenne Transfer case replaced
Thank you! If you are looking for me (I don't visit here that often anymore..) you can find me on Planet-9, or CayenneForums. I run both and have been working to make them pleasant/civil places to visit..
An update - it was another wheel speed sensor failure - not a failed transfer case. My '11 Turbo soldiers on with it's original 110,000 mile transfer case. I've got to change the fluid sometime soon.
Lesson I should have remembered - if one device fails when there are multiples of the device on the vehicle, save yourself some trouble - replace all of them. It's covered under Eilenberger's Law of Parallelism http://www.eilenberger.net/laws.htm :
Law#8 - Parallelism: If one of two identical bulbs burns out, it's buddy is just waiting until you've replaced the one, and buttoned things up to blow out. Also applies to lots of other devices.

It is really nice to be able to control forum structures, rules, etc without having to get corporate approval. I'm sure if the owners here realize I can still post here - I won't be able to for long. One of the forums is Cayenne specific - and not terribly active - if anyone wants to come over and help out making it grow you'd be more than welcome. The other is a more general Porsche forum (covers most of the more recent gasoline models) with somewhat of a focus on 987, 981 and newer Boxster/Cayennes.
A search on me might just turn those up, if not - PM me and I'll pass the names along.. They're nice forums to be active in - I have zero tolerance for the things that kept tearing Rennlist apart -- and so far that seems to have worked. They're growing and a core group of real enthusiasts make it their home. Funny thing - in over 2 years I've issued two warnings. No one has been banned. A friendly atmosphere makes moderating the forum really easy, people show each other respect and that gets passed on to the new users. I encourage ALL the new users to write a bit of an intro message with photos of their cars when they register for the forum, that's something I found long ago keeps flame wars at bay. People normally won't attack people they feel they know.
I'll have to stop back here a bit more often. See some of the old and good friends!
