Ask Moe
Hi Moe,
I just got new tires for my truck that lives outside. My last set of tires had very bad cracking from the sun and weather. Do you think some aerospace 303 or sonax gel will prevent that for my new tires??
thanks

It's a two-part process. Clean the tires with p21s total auto wash or wheel cleaner, then condition them once a month with Sonax Tire Gel. Should look new for as long as there's tread on them.

What's the word on BlueChem? I can't seem to find it on your site; is there a snag in the distribution line, or do you have it stocked?
How does it compare to gtechniq, carpro ceramic, poliyon, etc?
thanks

As for other products mentioned, I can only speak about Nano Technologie products as that's what we're selling. It's quite simply an amazing line and we're proud to be on the cutting edge of true Nano.
so I tried the gel on my truck and 2 weeks into it the tires still look REALLY good. I didn't think the Sonax would work this good. Love the stuff!
Awesome!!! That great to hear. Glad we solved your problem.
Hey Moe,
Two questions for you:
1) I routinely use a PC random orbital polisher. My question is how to get into tight places that the 7" pad wont touch; e.g. corners, resesses, non leading edges, etc. I have read people using drill motors but I don't feel the control that I have with the PC
2) On Painted Plastic Bumpers....do you have a technic for easy "dents" out. I am talking about very small impressions that have not scratched or cracked the paint?
Thanks!
Jeff

What is a fair price for a detail including full wash, 1 step polish (meaning just polish not the compound. But polish may take several passes), Opti-coat? I'm working with a highly recommended detailer here in Austin but wanted to make sure his prices are within reason...
Guys, I am not speaking for Moe here, but I think since he is not a board sponsor here anymore, he may not be able to respond to your questions. His avatar states "Former Sponsor", and it's not like Moe not to respond since early February.
Moe --
I'm the proud owner of a new 991S, which I'm taking on the track in a couple weeks for the first time. I have clear bra'd the front end, except for the hood (because my local guy uses 3M and I want to do the entire hood, not half). So I will be taping the hood with painters.
My question is what is the best product I can use on the rest of the car to minimize the marks from tarballs that I get on the track? I was thinking something like an Eagle One nanowax spray.
Any other detailing advice before taking this beauty on the track would be welcome!
Thanks!

1. Depending on the curvature of the pad, you can get into some tight spaces with a larger pad. The areas such as under the door handle or corners of license plate frame, etc. can be done by hand using the corresponding color pad in a hand applicator form. Obviously, having a smaller polisher like the Griot's and smaller pads would come in handy too.
2. If the plastic has been indented, say by a light collision, or those lovely shopping carts, not much can be done. The plastic has memory and will always stay that way and would need professional repair.
Great questions!

As for conditioning, Sonax Leather Foam is a simple and easy choice. If you'd like to further deep-condition the leather, use Leatherique. The process takes a few days, but results are amazing and long lasting.

Hope this helps.
