evo spanks carrera GT
A 600 whp hp Evo vs a 605 SAE crank hp CGT, Duh, what do you expect.
But it's still and Evo vs a CGT, and the guy in the Evo would swap places with the guy in the CGT in a hearbeat, and not so he can sell it and get another Evo or 10.

I don't have the means for either right now, either!
Plus your MS6 cost you more than my 8

I just have a soft spot in my heart for cars that can run with super-exotics for a fraction of the cost.
Who cares, I could get a 72 Pinto with a junkyard 400 in it to run 10's all day, it still would be just a 72 Pinto.
Dave
Just how long could it run? I might be wrong but will an EVO hit 200mph?
In the long run the evo would have been passed by the CGT. Sure it quick but for high speed runs i dont think it can keep up. Do a roll from 130 to 200 see who wins.
damn, they got their asses handed to em. spanked by a pos evo.. who's your daddy. evo 8 foo.
me thinks the evo wouldn't hang more than one session on the track before something breaks. good for a couple straight blasts, but that's about it.

And then some. Granted, that one's built to hell and back.
The Carrera GT has nothing to gain and all to lose. The EVO yes is an inexpensive car and 5 to 7K buys you 200 hp.
I still give credit to those that modify the car and it works well and obviously extremely competitive.
The C-GT should have never put itself in that position.

Although topical, I don't really care about 'high speed' runs- especially from 130-200 .... A 4 year old with downs can drag race
As for what you quoted - I originally tossed in that many an evo or other budget sportscar can hang with it around a track as well - I love the car to death but there's no reason to treat it like god's gift to the car world
You'll understand when you're passed by a $5k spec miata
They do pretty well, or mine did at least. You need to go to braided stainless line on the Evo's or you get fade pretty quick. I did not have a ton of extra HP in mine though.
